Under the general consensus assumption he was going to land in the second round, I was hopeful he'd do so in a good spot. I think he did ok here.
Franchise: A rudderless laughing stock in recent years. Can the fresh faces equate to a fresh (and smart for a change) approach?
Ownership: Maybe Mikhail Prokhorov has learned a valuable lesson? Upon becoming the Nets owner, he handed the keys to one of the worst GMs in the history of sports, Billy King. And he signed off on many of the comically bad decisions King made. There's nowhere to go but up! The fact that the cancerous and duplicitous King is still in the building isn't a good sign.
Front Office: Hiring Sean Marks from the tree of Pop/Buford tree is a good sign. He'll look to bring that Spurs culture (which is impressive) to Brooklyn, along with a more rational and strategic approach to team building. He can't turn the Nets into the Spurs, but he'll probably make far more smart decisions than bad. Hopefully, he can bring some stability. He's unproven, but I'm more concerned with crazy Russian and Billy the snake. Brutally bad ownership can trump all and ruin everything. See Knicks, New York.
Head Coach: Another unproven, but it won't matter much as he won't be expected to lead the team to many wins. I'm guessing Marks got great intel from fellow Spurs tree alumn Mike Budenholzer on this one.
Roster: Right now, it's the worst in the league on paper. After free agency, it'll probably be the worst in the league on paper. I doubt they are able to lure any good free agents, despite having the cap room to do so. There isn't anyone on the roster (see link below and make sure you select 16-17 roster) that makes me think Isaiah won't make the team. I haven't seen anything regarding his contract status. Obviously it'd be great if he got a guaranteed one. Regardless, he's got a real shot to crack this roster. Forget PT for now, although they may be bad enough where he could get some.

Overall: It's a potentially good situation. I like the recent hires, but have concerns with ownership and Billy the dunce. Being this (should be) a long term rebuild with probable limited disruption and a weak roster, IW could have done far worse. Isaiah, be the first in and the last out every day. Take the first bus on game day and get extra work in. Learn from the true pros. Look at Deron Williams and be nothing like him. Get it done!
