we would win with I. W. offensive shooting, D. R. really not playing and K.C. not really playing his game and horrible foul shooting( beside Isaiah).
But with the MVP D.G. defense on Smith Riv. and I W. foul shooting, we come away with the "W"
It says one thing... we are destined to go dancing with a bunch of tough players.
Angel played one hell of a game while Ish played is usual un sung hero game.

My Dad is here this weekend - handle "class of 68" and we said many of the same things. IW with his worst offensive game of the year, Carrington not doing much and Desi nonexistent yet The Hall wins?!?... Who would have thunk it.

Keep it rolling. Would be great to take the next 3... I'll be at the GTown game and hoping for a repeat on the 17th...

This. Another check on the way to us dancing. Ring off 5 more (including BET) and we are good to go.

Btw, I know a lot of Gtown fans, and they are not happy with JTIII. Of course, most of us would kill for the results Gtown has had the last decade, but they have arguably the second most talent in the Big East after Nova, perhaps even the most. That Thompson isn't doing more with this squad is a joke. It's basically a non-issue, because JTIII isn't going anywhere in the near future, but funny how different fan bases have different perspectives.

The Georgetown fan base suffers from an acute case of perceived entitlement.

I am a regular at the Georgetown games due to the misfortune that most of my family graduated from there.LOL
On the way out after the Providence loss one of the ushers asked me if I would consider taking Thompson's job. There is a growing unrest that he is a great recruiter but a mediocre game coach.

Agreed. You look at Gtown's talent and they should be MUCH better than what they are. Lots of top 25-50 kids, plus a senior who, coming into this year, was arguably the second best player in the Big East after Dunn. Problem for Gtown is that Thompson III will get an incredibly long leash because of the pedigree and because he generally has a pretty good squad, even if they don't meet expectations.

This game went about as I expected. Both teams are tough and physical, rebound well and play excellent defense (which accounts for the low shooting percentages). It's just that we were tougher!

GO PIRATES !!!

Agree Tom. We did not play our best game offensively at all. But we out-toughed a pretty tough team last night. Our guys were simply not going to lose. They are really impressing me with the different ways they are finding to win games. I'm still scared to death of our FT shooting but other than that these kids have cajones I have not seen in an SHU uniform in years.
