I agree with Dan's assessment, hence my earlier post of 3-4 OOC losses.

I think 8-4 is a realistic expectation. I would sign for 9-3 or better immediately and not think twice about it.

Agree. IMO though, it's also about the quality play. Blow out losses to Wichita St and Georgia last year showed how fragile this team really was.

Well an 8-4 start means we need to go 12-6 to be in Tourney discussion.

So I guess 8-4 start means we most likely won't see KW in 2016-2017.

Out of Conference , Team exceeds and wins 12.
Start of Big East wins first 4 games.
KW then gets a 12 year extension due to great start.
Team then loses last 14 games with no post season.

Most people think our ooc schedule is good. If we lose to Long Beach St does that affect the ooc schedule in your opinion?

That would be a tremendous hit to the schedule if the other favorites win their first round game.

That game really worries me. Heck, a lot of games worry me, but for some reason I'm feeling uneasy about that tournament (it's probably because I'm planning on making the short trip down to Chucktown for tournament and I always get nervous about games I go to in person).

Any reccos on best places to stay in Charlestown? Is the downtown area near the arena the best spot to be?

Downtown Charleston is the best place to be. It's in the heart of the activity, attraction, and restaurants, plus the school is located in the historic district. Lodging in that area is expensive, but it's super convenient, very nice, and you can park your car for the weekend.

There are more affordable hotels just across both rivers from downtown, Cooper on the east and Ashley on the west. The hotels are at the bases of the bridges that head into the historic district.

If you're traveling with a group and are only planning on going to the games and doing little else in the city, there is no shortage of nice beach communities (aka, non- or very limited-commercial) nearby. Isle of Palms, Sullivan's Island, Folly Beach, and Kiawah are all options and in November, the rental rates will probably be lower than usual. If the weather is nice, then it'll be enjoyable on the beach.

Every game worries me but if they win the first game vs LBS, it will be a fun and exciting trip. I went to Virgin Islands last year and it was a blast.
As far as Charleston goes, the Marriott Historic District is a good property and a great location, maybe two blocks +/- from the arena. Not cheap.

2015-16 SCHEDULE | TICKET INFO

South Orange, N.J. - Exciting home matchups, a trip to Charleston and a rivalry road game highlight the 2015-16 Seton Hall men's basketball non-conference schedule as the program announced its 12-game slate on Thursday.

"We are excited for our diverse non-conference schedule, which includes bringing strong basketball programs like Wichita State and Georgia to Prudential Center, two tough road games at George Washington and Rutgers as well as a very challenging tournament field in Charleston," head coach Kevin Willard said. "The variety of our opponents and the styles they play will help prepare us for BIG EAST competition."

The marquee game on the schedule will be a home date with Wichita State on Saturday, Dec. 19. The Shockers finished last season 28-4, was ranked No. 14 in the final Associated Press top 25 poll and reached the NCAA Tournament. It is one of six non-conference games the Pirates will play at Prudential Center with the first coming on opening night, Nov. 13, against Dartmouth. Also on the home schedule is a matchup with SEC member Georgia, which also went to the NCAA Tournament last season, on Nov. 28.

The Hall will also play its annual regular season game at Walsh Gymnasium on Sunday, Nov. 15 against Wagner. Other Pirates home games at Prudential Center include Troy (Dec. 10), Saint Peter's (Dec. 13) and South Florida (Dec. 22).

For the second time in the last five years, Seton Hall will participate in the Gildan Charleston Classic Nov. 19-22. The Pirates will be joined by Bradley, George Mason, Long Beach State, Mississippi, Oklahoma State, Towson and Virginia. ESPN announced the tournament bracket today, and the Pirates will face Long Beach State in the opening round on Nov. 19 and will be paired against either Virginia or Bradley in the second round.

Also on the schedule is the second installment of the Garden State Hardwood Classic against Rutgers. The teams will meet on Dec. 5 in Piscataway with the Pirates looking to defend their trophy and New Jersey bragging rights after an 81-54 victory over the Scarlet Knights last season. The Rutgers game is the second of back-to-back road games for the Pirates, who play at George Washington on Dec. 2.

The Pirates' 18-game BIG EAST schedule will be released by the conference at a later date.

Season tickets for the Seton Hall men's basketball team, which includes 15 games at Prudential Center and one at Walsh Gymnasium, are on sale now. Discounted tickets are available for alumni, and great seats are still available. Call 973-761-9679 to speak to a Pirates ticket sales representative today or visit HALLTix.com.

Need no worse than a 9-3 OOC record (but that is under the assumption of beating Long Beach in Charleston). Then need to find a way to go 9-9 in the league to get you to 18 wins before the BE tourney. That would certainly put them in the NCAA discussion. Is this team good enough to do that?

That would probably not put Seton Hall in any NCAA discussion, need probably two more wins than that pre-BET.

Think we need 20 wins overall to be in the conversation and 10 wins in conference. Could 9-9 do it maybe if we have a couple of wins against the top teams in the conference and no bad losses.

When was the last time the Hall won 10 games in the league? Was it the '03-04 season?

So 10-2 OOC and 10-8 in the league you think for a tourney berth? That seems very unlikely. We would have to over achieve to get there.

If we don't go 10-2 in the OOC schedule, the Hall doesn't belong in the tournament discussion.

The Big East will not be as good as last year. So 9-9 should just get the team on the bubble. I think with the talent this team has and considering the lack of front court players and outside shooting threats, I think 10-2, 9-9 (19-11) is a stretch.
