The winner of Tuesday night's game at the Rock might very well earn that title.
Disagree. Winner Tuesday night is the hottest team in America. Most teams lose at Creighton.
And they were very much there. Very close game through the second half.
Seton Hall is very hot but Utah State has now won 15 straight games after losing their first game.
And won the game on a very unusual 5 point play.
Under 30 seconds to play down 4. They come down and hit a 3. On the shot UNLV discards the rebounder for a loose ball foul. 2 additional free throws.
They make both. UNLV misses on the ensuing trip down the floor. Ball game.
I just finished watching Memphis annihilate Wichita State 112-86 on the road. The Tigers have put up 219 points in the last two games.
They are now 15-2 and have won 10 straight after losing to Villanova in the Battle 4 Atlantis finals and then at Mississippi (themselves 15-1).
They've played a challenging schedule as well. At Missouri, Michigan, Arkansas and Villanova in Atlantis, at Mississippi, at VCU, at Texas A&M and home against Clemson and Virginia.
BTW, regarding Utah State, the Mountain West is shaping up as a tough conference as is typical. Three ranked teams in Colorado State, San Diego State and Utah State plus Boise State, Nevada and New Mexico. All are tough outs. Six teams with 12 or more wins already.
