Five years ago when Willard was hired I frantically searched for pertinent information on our new coach. As I started to peruse the various articles on him,I felt that something was seriously wrong. After reviewing his overall record, I felt that I must be missing something. Why in the world would we hire a coach w,ho has had zero major accomplishments over his career. Irregardless, I threw my support behind Willard hoping that someone saw something that I was not seeing. I signed my son up for Willard's summer camp which he has attended for the last five years. I continued to make donations to the school. I attended many Pirate Blue events that featured Willard. I have attended every home game during Willard's tenure. I have attended many far distanced away games. I have attended all of the Big East Tournament games that we were involved in.

In short,I have done everything that any dedicated fan to a program would do. Typically as a fan you generally experience some extended success that certainly takes the sting out of the expense and general time that it takes to support a program. Under Willard, it seems as if the fan must place far more into the program then he gets back. We are on a long term losing trend and I believe that many fans have been starved to the point of no longer being able to follow the program with the blind faith that we once had.

Willard's rise is all about his connection with Rick Pitino. Bottom line is that there are a few guys in the coaching profession who can get jobs for their "guys" pretty easily; Pitino and Coach K being the 2 who are really the Kings. Willard has been able to ride Pitino's recommendations for quite a while now. Obviously, there are many examples of this in the Business world as well.

We all know now that the Emperor is only wearing a speedo. I think it's one more year of either get results or it's over.
