I believe that Willard overestimates his intelligence and basketball acumen and chastises anyone who questions it. He is a type A personality, stubborn, and overly confident (if not arrogant) from what we have been told. In my opinion, he is someone who believes that he has all of the answers and fails to recognize his weaknesses.

He has not shown a willingness to change or exhibited any evidence that he is able to adjust his approach to coaching, motivating, or recruiting (outside of offering assistant coaching positions). In year 5, every press conference remains littered with excuses, reasons for his frustration, and head scratching quotes. His on court results have somehow regressed and his recruiting remains among the worst in major division 1 basketball. People want Willard to change, but I think it is time to realize that the guy is unwilling and unable to do so.

There is nothing worse than an arrogant individual with nothing to substantiate their pompousness. Willard does not have a single accomplishment to hang his hat on as a coach, yet it seems that he still believes he knows better than everyone else.

Give me an individual who is able to recognize their flaws and work to improve them, not another year of this crap. 82-81 (30-60 in conference) speaks for itself.

That said, even a blind man could tell you Willard has to go.

Difference is, these posters are not being handsomely rewarded by the University for possessing either. Instead, they are watching their time and money be flushed down the toilet.

All this is true. He does not adapt. Doesn't look like he trusts his assistants. Will not deviate from a failing strategy. It's so odd.

The other thing that I cannot for the life of me figure out is why Karlis, Manga and Mobley were not out in the end. Mobley may have been hurt, but the other two. Karlis stuck with the titanic, went through four years of the worst player management, and still thanked the fans for showing up. Now that's character!!

Among many other of the basic building blocks of success, Wilkard appears to severely lack self awareness
