i feelnlike mamu did a lot of this in our games
Big difference getting the ball in position to do those things in a scenario like this compared to that was going on in our games this year. The guy carried a huge weight given our issues at guard. We needed him outside and on the ring to facilitate more often than we should’ve.
IMO, Mamu is an NBA player.
how many can play defense. thats the numbers game.He has the skills, but it might come down to the numbers game. How many similar players are out there for the limited number of roster spots? We’ll see…
You are soooo right about spacing. I don't know if it's a Willard thing or player issue, we were always packed in tightly on offense. Left no room for Mamu to work.Sandro is a player who's game is more suited to the NBA. He had all of the above skills last year but its difficult to execute with less space, poor spacing from teammates and the constant double-teaming and help defense he saw.
The NBA is mostly a One on One game played in much more space. If Sandro can hit open 3's in the 38%+ range he's going to stick in the NBA. He does enough things well and with a 7'1" wingspan, he will get a shot. Can he hit the 3s and can he adequately defend - those are the questions.
