Very good win now let’s get on a run and put together a string of wins . Cooks did not start , played only 9 minutes and scored 9 points. Injury ?

No. They finished 5-19, 2-18 last year. They are 3-4 this season.

ST. THOMAS, USVI – Senior Lauren Park-Lane (Wilmington, Del.) erupted for a career-high 37 points and the Seton Hall women's basketball team took down Wisconsin, 83-72, in the second day of the 2022 Paradise Jam on Friday in St. Thomas.
Park-Lane finished one point shy of Seton Hall's single-game scoring record of 38 points twice scored by former Pirate Tabatha Richardson-Smith… most recently scored against Illinois on Dec. 9, 2014. Whereas Park-Lane had just three points through the first three quarters yesterday against VCU, she had 10 points in the first quarter today.
The Pirates never trailed after the first quarter and shot 45.9% from the field for the game. Park-Lane was 11-for-21 overall and 12-for-14 from the free-throw line.
Jala Jordan (Philadelphia, Pa.) had her second consecutive best game as a Pirate, finishing with season-highs of 11 points and eight rebounds. Senior Azana Baines (Blackwood, N.J.) was a third Pirate to reach double-figures in scoring with 10 points and five rebounds. Senior Mya Bembry (West Orange, N.J.) also had a strong effort with eight points and a game-high 10 rebounds.
THE STORY:
Trailing 19-13 in the first quarter, the Pirates went on a 9-0 run, and a three-pointer by Cooks gave them a 22-19 advantage. Wisconsin's Sania Copeland snapped the run by banking in a trifecta at the buzzer to send us into the second tied at 22.
The Hall's pressure didn't end with the first-quarter buzzer. The Pirates scored the first 10 points of the second stanza, holding Wisconsin scoreless for the first 4:32 of the quarter. The run, overlapping two quarters, grew to 19-3 as The Hall grabbed a 32-22 advantage with 5:28 to go before halftime. Amari Wright (Jacksonville, Fla.) had a driving layup to give The Hall its largest lead of the half, 43-29, but the Badgers closed the half with a 6-0 burst to send the Pirates into the locker room with a 43-35 lead.
The Pirates shot 47.1% from the field in the first half, but the biggest difference was their rebounding. The Hall pulled down 25 rebounds in the first half compared to the 29 rebounds they had in the entire game against VCU.
In the third quarter, Wisconsin cut The Hall's lead to five points, 51-46, but the Pirates scored seven of the next nine points, and an offensive rebound putback by Mya Bembry (West Orange, N.J.) put them back up, 58-48, with 2:08 left in the third. In the fourth, the lead never got less than seven points and twice ballooned to as many as 14 points.
THE NUMBERS:
- Seton Hall was 28-for-61 (45.9%) from the floor for the game, while Wisconsin was 28-for-66 (42.4%). The Hall was 7-for-23 (30.4%) from three-point range, while the Badgers were 7-for-24 (29.2%).
- Park-Lane had a career-high 37 points on 11-for-21 shooting, 3-for-9 from three-point range and 12-for-14 from the free-throw line. She also had four assists and two rebounds.
- The Hall out-rebounded Wisconsin, 39-to-35. The Badgers had a slight edge, 12-to-11 on the offensive glass and a 17-to-13 advantage in second-chance points.
- Jordan finished with 11 points, eight rebounds, two steals and two blocks.
- Seton Hall was 20-for-25 (80.0%) from the free-throw line, while Wisconsin was 9-for-12 (75.0%).
- Baines had 10 points and five rebounds.
- Seton Hall forced 17 turnovers, while Wisconsin forced 13. The Pirates had a 20-to-11 advantage in points-off-turnovers.
- Bembry had a season-high eight points and a game-best 10 rebounds to go with two assists and two blocks.
- Seton Hall improves to 3-3 on the young season and snaps a three-game losing streak, while Wisconsin falls to 3-4.
- This was the first-ever meeting between Seton Hall and Wisconsin.
- This is Park-Lane's sixth career 30-point game and her 26th career 20-point game.
- With 37 points today, Park-Lane surpassed former Pirate Dawn Johnson into 10th place on Seton Hall's all-time scoring list. She's also only the 10th player in Pirate history to surpass the 1,300-career points milestone. She now has 1,335 career points.
- Park-Lane's 37 points are one shy of Seton Hall's single-game record and are the most scored by a Pirate since Tabitha Richardson-Smith's record 38 points also scored against a Big Ten team, Illinois, on Dec. 9, 2014.
- With three made three-pointers tonight, Park-Lane moves past former Pirate Nicole Jimenez into eighth place on Seton Hall's career list.
- With eight rebounds tonight, Jordan surpassed the 200-rebounds mark for her career.
- With five rebounds tonight, Baines surpassed the 400-rebounds mark for her career.
- Seton Hall improves to 3-0 this season when leading at the half and 3-0 when out-rebounding its opponent.
- Wisconsin's six-point lead in the first quarter is the largest deficit the Pirates have overcome in a victory this season.
- Park-Lane has played 39:00 or more minutes in four of the Pirates' six games so far this season.

They can use this game today against Georgia. I don’t know how good that program is. The VCU loss hurts. So they need to really pick it up. They have to go on a roll in the conference. No more slip ups in the remaining OOC games. Shoot for 2nd in the conference and play like an NCAA caliber team.

Huge win over Georgia! They are a Top 25 quality team this year.
Today had many of the Pirates making nice contributions. Several players made big shots. It was a true team effort and they all deserve a lot of credit for that one.
Georgia is one of the all-time great Women's Basketball programs. They've been down a bit since the legendary Andy Landers left after 2015 and have only made three NCAAs in the past seven years but they haven't had a sub .500 season since 1978-79.
The SEC is always strong in Women's hoops (South Carolina and Tennessee just to start) so this win will look good on the resume.
I thought Amari Wright played an excellent game. Only 6 pts, but 5 assists and 1 turnover. Looks to be a solid player to have in the program. I thought she stabilized the game and provided good on court leadership. Some of the players hit several “No No” shots that turned into “Yes Yes” shots. RAF would have been proud..
Good to see Wright back. She had been injured and had not played the past few games.
