SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – The Seton Hall women's basketball schedule is now complete, with the BIG EAST conference announcing league match-ups and television information for the upcoming 2017-18 season. The Pirates will be featured on national television four times during the BIG EAST schedule as they face all nine conference foes twice in a home-and-home format.
"As always, the BIG EAST slate presents a tremendous but exciting challenge for our young ladies. We are extremely fortunate to be featured in several nationally televised contests and are looking forward to the tests that playing 18 games in one of the nation's best conferences will bring to our team," said fifth-year head coach Anthony Bozzella.
After taking on a highly-competitive non-conference scheduled that was announced last month, the Pirates will kick off BIG EAST play with a trip to perennial league favorite DePaul (Dec. 28) and defending tournament champion Marquette (Dec. 30). The Hall returns home for its first BIG EAST contest on Jan. 2, taking on Creighton on FS2. The Pirates will remain at home to take on Providence on Jan. 5, also playing to a national audience on FS2.
Road games at Butler (Jan. 7) and Xavier (Jan. 10) precede a three-game homestand, one that will see the Pirates play host to Villanova (Jan. 12), Georgetown (Jan. 14) and St. John's (Jan. 21). The round-robin schedule flips beginning with a trip to Providence (Jan. 26) and Creighton (Jan. 28) before home games against Xavier (Feb. 2) and Butler (Feb. 4).
The Hall begins a season-long three-game road swing on Feb. 9, traveling to Georgetown before an FS2 game at Villanova (Feb. 11). The Pirates will again be featured on FS2 to close the road swing for a rivalry match-up at St. John's on Feb. 16. The regular season concludes at Walsh Gym, with the Pirates hosting Marquette (Feb. 23) and DePaul (Feb. 25) to round out the slate.
The BIG EAST Tournament, at a location to be announced, will take place from March 3-6 with the quarterfinals airing on FS2 before semifinal and championship action on FS1.
All BIG EAST contests not on national television will once again be available on the BIG EAST Digital Network via the FOX Sports GO app. All HOME non-conference games will be streamed live and FREE on the Pirate Sports Network and the SHU Pirates app. EVERY contest, home and away, will be available over the air on WSOU and 89.5 FM.
The Pirates return a pair of starters in the high-scoring backcourt duo of Kaela Hilaire (Floral Park, N.Y.) and JaQuan Jackson (Killeen, Texas) and will gain the services of impact transfers Taylor Brown (Paterson, N.J.) and Donnaizha Fountain (Roxbury, Mass.) for the 2017-18 season. To purchase individual or season tickets, call the Seton Hall ticket office at 973-275-HALL (4255).
