South Orange, N.J. — Year two of the Josh Osit Era will kick off at Owen T. Carroll Field against Army on August 12 at 2 p.m. The home opener is one contest in a 19-game schedule for the Seton Hall women's soccer team that features 11 home fixtures, including two against BIG EAST foes that were NCAA Tournament teams last season.
The Pirates open the 2023 season with five consecutive matches on campus. Following home contests against Lafayette (August 17, 6 p.m.) and Central Connecticut State (August 20, 1 p.m.), Seton Hall will host Binghamton (August 24, 4 p.m.) and Rider (August 27, 4 p.m.) as part of a doubleheader at Owen T. Carroll Field with the men's soccer program.
After three-straight road matches, the Pirates return to South Orange to face Le Moyne College at 4 p.m. on Sunday, September 10 to wrap up non-conference play. The BIG EAST slate kicks off with road fixtures at Providence on September 21 and Villanova on September 24. The Hall returns to Owen T. Carroll Field to open the home conference schedule against St. John's (September 28, 6 p.m.) and Xavier (October 1, 1 p.m.). The Musketeers are one of two NCAA Tournament teams from last season to visit campus in 2023 with Georgetown (October 8, 1 p.m.) being the other. The home slate wraps up with matches against DePaul (October 15, 1 p.m.) and UConn (October 26, 6 p.m.)
The top six teams in the conference standings based on points (three for a conference win, one for a draw) earn invites to the BIG EAST Championship, with the top two teams receiving byes directly into the semifinals.
Seton Hall has seen steady improvement over the last four seasons and it looks to continue an upward trajectory in year two under Osit. Last year, The Hall posted its best winning percentage since 2012 and its most points in BIG EAST play since 2013. The Pirates have registered at least five wins in back-to-back seasons for the first time since 2012-13.
