Back in the day, I worked as a student volunteer at WSOU. Was trained by the legendary Tom Parnham, the original engineer for the station.

My FCC permit is dated 12/17/86…36 years ago. I wasn’t much of a contributor as I was a first year student, but lasted until 1987 when school work became too much.

On Saturday night, I will be hosting an Alumni shift from 9:00pm - 12:00am. I am thankful the WSOU staff gave me an opportunity.

I’m nervous as hell - I haven’t done anything like this in what seems like forever, but if you want to have a good chuckle on my behalf, by all means listen in.

Any words of encouragement are appreciated - I’m hoping I don’t make a complete fool of myself (I do that naturally anyways)!

Cool. What death metal will you be playing? :)
I’m more of an old school hair metal guy, but they don’t have that in their rotation.

Probably do more retro - I’m still into the metal scene but the hardest stuff I might play is Biohazard or something like that.

I have to see what I’m allowed to play when I get there. I’m so old I don’t even know where it is (they moved the studio)!

As a former host of a business show on WSOU in the 1960’s want to wish you best of luck.I am sure you will be great.

Thanks all! I’m excited and very rusty…but I guess it’s like riding a bike (I hope)!

Good luck and I’m sure you’ll be fine. Always better when you have a few butterflies. Break a leg.
