Anyone have an idea what the advanced sale is looking like for the Xaiver game? (If it is very high, do you think they might open up a section of the upper deck for the game?) GO PIRATES!
I would hope they were get enough turn out especially from the students to have to open the upper section. With that said, I would also hope they open enough concession stands instead of keeping over half of them closed.Anyone have an idea what the advanced sale is looking like for the Xaiver game? Gone are the days (early 90s) of camping out outside of the rec center to secure a season ticket...
The problem with the Xavier game is spring break starts Saturday and the residence halls close that morning. Obviously bad timing and would have been nice to have a Villanova type turnout but probably isn't going to happen. Hopefully the local students get to the game somehow.
Not anymore. 80% of freshman live on campus now and a high percentage either live on campus or locally near the University in off campus housing. When I went 80% were commuters now its the other way around. That's not going to happen overnight. Hopefully this season is the start of a long stretch of NCAA tournament appearances.
Can someone explain why Winter Break and Spring Break are always used as excuses for lack of student support? Aren't most Seton Hall students local?

I remember spring break in 1992 - we were in Daytona, Florida bar watching Terry and company hand MIssouri a nice beatdown to get to the sweet sixteen (where they lost to eventual champ Duke). I think the first round was a close one with LaSalle. Thanks but my point was that even if students go home during break aren't many of them still in the tri-state area? I imagine most (non-student) fans attending games are coming from beyond South Orange and that doesn't seem to stop them (unless of course it's 9pm on a Wednesday).

Yep, at 20yo a Florida spring break trumps anytown, NJ or in this case Greensboro, NC. I can't jump on the kids if they have some good plans for break. Now if they're sitting at home playing xbox, then they need to get their a$$ to the Rock vs Xavier- biggest game in years. So you chose Daytona over the Pirates. Maybe that's the answer to the question as to why the students won't come back for Sunday's game. They can watch it from home or in a bar.
