Let's try to stay positive and remember the great things about the SH Pirates. Who are your top 5 favorite players? I don't really go as far back as a lot of others because I started watching the Pirates as a kid in the Amaker years, but here are mine and why:
1. Andre Barrett- He was small. Maybe 5'9 and he wasn't overly explosive, but he was quick and he had a confidence and swagger about him and was a pretty good rhythm shooter.
2. Shaheen Holloway- An all-around great player. He was a stat sheet stuffer, could get to the rim, was smooth with the ball and made everyone around him better, and he was great at pressuring the ball on D.
3. Kelly Whitney- Any time the ball went into the post to Whitney, I honestly felt like he was going to score or get fouled. So much talent and just a solid guy on the boards. Too bad about those legal troubles a few years ago.
4. Samuel Dalembert- Saddens me because he could have been so much more. Had the potential to be the most dominant big in the NCAA. He could have been Marcus Camby.
5. Jeremy Hazell- When he was hot no one could stop him from draining 3's and getting to the foul line.
