Let's try to stay positive and remember the great things about the SH Pirates. Who are your top 5 favorite players? I don't really go as far back as a lot of others because I started watching the Pirates as a kid in the Amaker years, but here are mine and why:

1. Andre Barrett- He was small. Maybe 5'9 and he wasn't overly explosive, but he was quick and he had a confidence and swagger about him and was a pretty good rhythm shooter.

2. Shaheen Holloway- An all-around great player. He was a stat sheet stuffer, could get to the rim, was smooth with the ball and made everyone around him better, and he was great at pressuring the ball on D.

3. Kelly Whitney- Any time the ball went into the post to Whitney, I honestly felt like he was going to score or get fouled. So much talent and just a solid guy on the boards. Too bad about those legal troubles a few years ago.

4. Samuel Dalembert- Saddens me because he could have been so much more. Had the potential to be the most dominant big in the NCAA. He could have been Marcus Camby.

5. Jeremy Hazell- When he was hot no one could stop him from draining 3's and getting to the foul line.

Glenn and Shaheen. Lots of other favorites but these two showed something more than just being basketball players. Now that I've expanded the question in my mind beyond hoops, throw in Jackie Kaba, and I never expected to say that when the question was first raised. Sometimes the person sticks out in our memories more than the exploits on the court.

Jerry Walker, Sha, Rimas, Arturas, Adrian Griffin, Ramon Ramos- in no particular order.
I like the blood and guts guys. We've had very few of those lately. Jordan Theodore maybe. Patrik in his quiet way.

And notice , all of these were TEAM FIRST people.

That's a darn good list....my favorites too. Tough to leave Daryl Walker out though.

Greg Tynes, Shaheen Hollaway, Jerry Walker, Adrian Griffin and John Garcia. They always played hard and gave all they had

Sha, Dehere, Mosley (the first step towards possibilities), Jerry W, Arturas.......a couple of names subject to change every few minutes

Andre McCloud - was the best player when I was old enough to really go all in on the Pirates
Mark Bryant - The bridge to the most recent glory days
Rimas - loved the guts the guy played with, willing himself to become a great all around player
Dehere - no reason needed
Jerry Walker - Again, loved a guy who did all the dirty work

5a - Jerry Mackey - even though I never saw him play at The Hall (obviously), given he's my Dad, have to give him a shout out...

Terry Dehere, Jerry Walker, Sha, Andre Barrett and Andre Griffen come to mind at the top of my head. However, Duane Jordan, Anthony Avent, Ramon Ramos, and Franz Volcy are also high on my list.

1- Andre Barrett
2- Sha
3- Gause
4- Darius Lane
5-Nutter world or JR Morris

Ken House, Adrian Griffin, Jerry Walker, Arturas and Terry Dehere (limited to those I saw play).

I'm going to go with Gause and Hazell as my most fun to watch. Andre/Shah as my all time favs. Sammy D. a close second.

J. Walker: Talk about a guy that overworked and outhustled everyone
Shaheen: Took the team on his back no matter how he had to
Dehere: Made scoring look so easy and made an art of it
D. Walker: If you love defense, you loved Darryl...made the most of his physical talent
A. Griffin: Didn't have a hole in his game...a professional and team player

here are my favorites...maybe not the most talented:
1. Jerry Walker
2.Adrian Griffin
3. Shaheen Holloway
4. LaVell Sanders
5.Will probably be Angel Delgado

Hazell

Walter Dukes, Andrew Gaze, Marco Lokar ( for that one great game withal those 3,s), Caver & Terry Dehere.
