Many SHU fans did not believe we could be an NCAA team this season. Some did or thought we would could be a bubble team. At minimum we have a solid chance at the moment. Before the season began which player did you feel would be your key player?
Before the season my key player was Sandro. I thought Powell was the star and our best player. He's been much better, a real star who wills us to win at times. I thought Cale was going to be the Cale we are seeing now. He's been up and down and underperformed at times. Now he's on the right track. TT was advertised as a possible one and done and we now know that's in a fantasy world.(no need to start another TT thread.) McKnight has been a defensive gem.
I thought Sandro could make a leap with the extended playing time and also from what he showed down the stretch last season. I believed if he could be a threat from the perimeter and also would be a high basketball IQ on court player. So here we are at 16-9 a few wins away from a possible NCAA bid. He has been good and bad too just like everyone else outside of Powell. He has been a difference maker at times and has hurt the team in a few games also. He has put forth effort and has been asked to wear a lot of hats. His contribution up until this point can't be undervalued. Let's see how he closes out the remainder of the season. That was my preseason key player choice.
