Surprised that no one commented on this three page (yes three pages) piece by Zach B detailing Pitino's relentless two month assault on rebuilding the Johnnies. Zach B seems to have something St. John's related every day for the past two months. It seems as if he is on their payroll (no disputing that they've earned the ink). They own the college hoop discussion in the NY Post. My takeaway from reading it is the importance of assistants - in this case Van Macon and Steve Massiello. It magnifies the inexperience on the Hall bench big time. Pitino is everywhere and highly visible and closes. This is not a badmouthing of Sha. It is an example of what we are up against. It is concerning to say the least.

Be surprised no longer—there was a thread on this.

In my opinion, Holloway would be wise to pick up Glen Miller. He was a former assistant and then associate head coach at UConn and a former head coach at Connecticut college, Brown and UPenn. He's currently the head coach of DIII St. Joseph's.

He'd bring head coaching experience, national championship experience both at UConn in Saint Joseph's, and considerable game day experience. Rumor has it he played a major role in the game planning and adjustments in our 2014 championship run. He'd be the perfect guy for Holloway. A wealth of experience, but he really doesn't have a big personality and wouldn't overshadow him. I have to believe he would look hard at the chance to get back into high Major DI basketball, especially in the big east and the NYC metro area.

They still have a slot open?

Well if they get him you have to start talking about St. John’s as a league contender.
Right now there are no spots open. Pitino and Co. will have to be creative, but he’s done it before. I don’t think they’re gonna turn down Wilcher at this point and it’s obvious that this has been in the works for a while.
