Was just going through the 2023 recruiting and looking at social media, articles, visits, etc. Listing out relevant targets below (also just listing local recruits even if no interest/chance). All rankings are 247 Sports Composite Rankings. Overall, it's a very strong year in NJ but seems to be a down year in NY. Most of SHUs offers so far have been local offers as well, but I've listed offers they've made outside the area. The full list of offers is below but to start, I will summarize the most realistic candidates right now

Main Targets:
#3 Mackenzie Mgbako - SF - Extreme longshot now that he's blown up

#21 Aaron Bradshaw - C - Been to a ton of SHU games, SHU is in the mix, but when he blows up, it will be tough to stay in it

#44 Elmarko Jackson - SG - Not much written about him but he seems interested

#51 Aaron Clark - SG - Dan has covered him here; SHU is on top for him at this time

#83 Jayden Lemond - PG - SHU has hosted him a few times and he is a high interest target

#92 Papa Kante - C - SHU is trying to get in the mix but think he ends up at UConn

NR Yousouff Singare - C - Fits the mold of a SHU Center. Feel like if SHU misses Bradshaw or sees the writing on the wall, they look here for their center

#146 Tylaur Johnson - PG - SHU has not offered yet but he seems like he could be a good fall back to Lemond

#157 Brandon Johnson - PF - In SHUs backyard and fits the mold of what they look for in a 4 man

Full List:
#1 DJ Wagner - Combo Guard - NJ (Camden) - Zero chance here. Almost all people have him Kentucky bound

#3 Mackenzie Mgbako - SF - NJ (Gill St. Bernard) - Has been to a few SHU games this year but seems like a long shot now that he has blown up. The crystal ball is on Duke

#13 Simeon Wilcher - CG - NJ (Roselle Catholic) - No chance here, SHU does not get players from this school. Rutgers is involved but UNC seems to be the leader

#17 Elijah Fisher - SG - Canada (Crestwood Prep) - SHU has offered and they have a Canadian connection through Woodward. Oklahoma State is involved as they were for Moncrieff and Samuel. Kansas and Kentucky seem to be increasing interest and if that happens, hard to see SHU remaining in the mix at all. If the blue bloods do not chase, Oklahoma State seems to have a leg up, although with Moncrieff struggling this year, who knows.

#21 Aaron Bradshaw - C - NJ (Camden) - Has been to 4 or 5 SHU games this year and seems to have legit interest. Right now the blue bloods aren't on him too hard and I'd say SHU is near the top of his list. Will see if they can remain relevant if/when he blows up

#39 Akil Watson - PF - NJ (Roselle Catholic) - SHU had a chance when he was at Bosco but at Roselle, I think this will be a longshot. His younger brother is even better but is also at Roselle now

#44 Elmarko Jackson - SG - NJ (St. Augustine Prep) - Haven't heard this name too much. SHU has offered along with a handful of High Major programs. He has visited Maryland, Miami, VCU, St. Johns and SHU and also plans to visit UConn, Michigan and Penn State. He was at the Rutgers game for SHU. Maryland seems like they may be the leader at this time, which is strange given they have no coach

#51 Aaron Clark - SG - NH (Brewster Academy) - SHU appears to be the leader for the talented 6'6 wing at this time

#69 Spencer Mahoney - SF - NY (Xaverian) - Somehow this kid has no offers despite a lofty ranking at this time. Will be interesting to see how he develops. He is from Brooklyn so right in SHUs backyard

#83 Jayden Lemond - PG - NJ (Blair) - He has been to several SHU games this year and has legit interest in the program. Auburn, Georgia Tech and UConn also seem like they are factors at this time. He's been to a Rutgers game or two as well.

#84 Jahnathan Lamothe - SG - MD (St. Frances Academy) - Was originally offered by Tony Skinn but SHU has continued to recruit him. Maryland was the leader but with coaching turnover who knows. He seems more interested in blue bloods based on some recent interviews, so likely little to no chance here.

#92 Papa Kante - C - CT (South Kent) - SHU recently offered him and he seems interested. Has some big time offers but not clear how heavily programs like Kansas are in pursuit. Rutgers and UConn have been on Kante for longer than SHU and Sanogo's success was a thing standing out to him when he updated his recruitment in December.

NR Royal Brown - PG - NY (Cohoes) - SHU has offered the 6'2 PG from New York along with Creighton, DePaul, Miami , Texas A&M and a few low to mid majors. He seems to project as a top 150-175 kid once he gets rated. No real update on his interests

NR Geancarlo Peguero - SF/PF - NJ (Gill St. Bernard) - Has offers from SHU and Dayton so far. Seems like a sleeper recruit probably would not be in top 200.

NR Youssouf Singare - C - AZ (Bella Vista Prep) - Has SHU and St. Johns offers so far and is rated as the #22 C in the nation according to 247 Sports actual rankings. Originally from Mali and seems like a very athletic big with major shot blocking upside. Would fit the mold of a Ro/Ike type big for SHU that they like to have on the roster

NR Kachi Nzeh - C/PF - PA (George School) - Another athletic big with bigtime defensive upside. He has close to a dozen offers, including several high major offers. Iowa, Maryland, Miami, Creighton, and SHU have all offered. Illinois is in the mix as well. His top schools seem to be Iowa, Penn State, Miami and VCU as of November.

NR Spencer Joyner - CG - NJ (Arts School) - Joyner has a slew of low to mid major offers to go along with LSU and Seton Hall offers and a bunch of high major interest. He's a big time scoring guard with size. Not much has been written about his recruitment

#133 Jayden Reid - PG - NY (Long Island Lutheran) - He only holds a Stony Brook offer so far but SHU is recruiting him. He's undersized which may keep him at the mid major level.

#138 James Johns Jr - SG - NY (Long Island Lutheran) - He has offers from a handful of high majors but SHU has not offered yet although they are recruiting him. His offers came last summer after a strong AAU session with Team Final.

#146 Tylaur Johnson - PG - NJ (St. Benedict Prep) - SHU is recruiting the 6' PG but has not offered yet. He has offers from DePaul and St. Johns. He is a big time scorer and is very crafty with the ball. Earlier this week, he went off for 35 points against Jaylen Lemond and Blair Academy.

#153 Jahmere Tripp - SF - NY (Brooklyn Collegiate) - SHU is recruiting Tripp but has not offered yet. He has offers from LSU, UMass, Nebraska, St. Peters and Stony Brook. Not much has been written about his recruitment but he has been to a SHU game this year.

#157 Brandon Williams - PF - NY (Christ the King) - Williams has double digit offers including half a dozen high major offers with SHU being one of those programs. He fits the mold of a SHU 4 man that is athletic, can handle a little and develop a perimeter game over time.
