  • Seton Hall has won three of its last four games after dropping three consecutive games to open BIG EAST play including a 66-51 win at Georgetown on Jan. 10.
  • Senior Al-Amir Dawes (Newark, N.J.) is coming off of a career evening against the Hoyas where he scored 21 of his career-high 24 points in the second half and 18 of the Pirates' first 21 points coming out of the locker room in eight minutes in the second half.
  • Dawes is averaging 15.8 points and shooting 55 percent from the field over his last 4 games
  • The Hall has played four of the top five teams in the BIG EAST through seven games in league play with three of those contests coming on the road at Xavier (Dec. 20), at Marquette (Dec. 27) and at Creighton (Jan. 3).
  • The difficulty of The Hall's schedule is reflected in the metrics as KenPom rates the Pirates' slate as the fifth toughest in the country and its NET SOS ranks seventh in Division I.
  • The Pirates' average margin of victory in their three conference wins is 20.7 points.
  • The last time Seton Hall won its first three BIG EAST games by double-digits was 2007-08.
  • Seton Hall's strong play has been sparked by its defense, which has held its opponents to 26 percent shooting from three-point range over the last four games and 19 percent from three (12-of-63) in its three victories.
  • Georgetown managed to shoot 31 percent from the floor and just 16 percent from deep (4-of-24) against the Pirates on Jan. 10.
  • Seton Hall held Butler to 26.8 shooting from the field and only 15 made field goals on Jan. 7.
  • That is the lowest shooting percentage allowed and field goals allowed by a Pirates team in a BIG EAST Conference game since holding Georgetown to 26.5 percent shooting from the field and only 13 field goals made (13-for-49) on Feb. 28, 2004, a 75-48 Seton Hall win at the Meadowlands.
  • The Pirates are 10-1 this season when they hold their opponents to under 70 points.
  • Seton Hall ranks second in the BIG EAST in scoring defense (63.6 ppg), field goal percentage defense (39.7) and three-point field goal defense (27.9 pct).

  • The Pirates rank 17th in KenPom adjusted defensive efficiency.
  • In Holloway's last 29 games as a head coach, his teams have allowed just 61.4 points per game and only eight opponents have scored more than 70 points.
  • Graduate student KC Ndefo (Elmont, N.Y.) is the NCAA's active career leader in blocks with 349.
  • After starting the season off slow from a blocks standpoint, Ndefo now leads the BIG EAST and ranks 17th in the country with 39 total blocks.
  • The Hall is 142-22 (.866) since 2015-16 when its lead gets to seven points.
  • Through seven BIG EAST games, junior Kadary Richmond (Brooklyn, N.Y.) is averaging 13.1 points on 46 percent shooting from the floor, 42 percent shooting from three, 6.1 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game.

  • Richmond has dished out at least five assists in six of the last seven games.
  • Richmond was high school teammates with junior Femi Odukale (Brooklyn, N.Y.) at South Shore High School in Brooklyn.
