INDUCTEE BIOGRAPHIES

Jeanne Ade served Seton Hall University for 20 years, working in the Seton Hall Student Center ticket office where she established lasting relationships with Seton Hall students, student-athletes, coaches and administrators. She managed tickets for all events at the University and tirelessly worked with concert promoters to bring musical acts for the students to enjoy. She was instrumental in organizing students to attend road games to support Seton Hall's student-athletes. In addition to her loyal service to Seton Hall and the ticket office, she and her husband, Fred, were ardent members of the football team's Quarterback Club and the baseball team's Diamond Club. (Editor's Note: Jeanne passed away on Feb. 3, 2021 and will be inducted posthumously)

Jerry Alexander '74 was one of the most explosive football players to ever don the pads for the Pirates. Starring as a split end, Alexander racked up a club-team record 912 receiving yards in three seasons. He helped lead the Pirates to an 8-1 record and the 1972 Eastern Club Bowl/Empire Bowl Football National Championship with 38 receptions, 668 yards and six touchdowns and was named to the Club Football All-America team. He and his teammates helped elevate Seton Hall back to varsity status in 1973, and he went on to serve as a wide receivers coach for the Pirates from 1975-76.

Jennifer Petersen, nee Cheshire '98 graduated as Seton Hall's all-time kills leader (1,379) and still ranks fourth in program history over 20 years later. She is also the program's all-time leader in points scored (1,738) and ranks second in aces (190). To this day, she is still one of only three Pirates to record a 30-kill match. In her freshman season, she was a member of the Pirates squad that set the program record for wins in a season with 31, and in her senior season, she was named first-team All-BIG EAST and CoSIDA Academic All-America.

Rimas Kaukenas '00 was a major contributor to a men's basketball team that advanced to the NCAA Tournament Sweet Sixteen during his senior season. He averaged 16.3 points in the three-game run that included upset wins over Oregon and Temple. That average ranks sixth all-time in Seton Hall's NCAA history, and he has the best three-point shooting percentage in Seton Hall's NCAA history at 57.1 percent. He graduated as the program's 18th all-time leading scorer and still ranks 31st today with 1,292 points. He was a second-team All-Met Writers second-team selection as a senior and a three-time BIG EAST All-Academic team selection (1998-00).

Kevin Lyles '95 was one of men's track & field's all-time greats and ended his career as the most decorated performer in BIG EAST Conference history. The league's record holder for most individual championships with 17, he is the only student-athlete in the conference to ever win four events in a single outdoor championship meet, and combined with his five relay titles, he is a 22-time BIG EAST champion. He was a four-time winner of BIG EAST Most Outstanding Track Performer of the Year, two indoors and two outdoors, and he helped Seton Hall win the 1993 BIG EAST Indoor Championship. He is also a five-time All-America selection with his highest finish coming in the 1995 400m, when he won bronze.

Patrick Murray '64, MBA '72 served as Seton Hall's Chairman of the Board of Regents from 2010-19 and has been a pillar of leadership for the University, helping guide Seton Hall through the creation of two new schools and colleges, the new Interprofessional Health Sciences campus and several new buildings on the South Orange campus. During his tenure, Seton Hall Athletics won seven BIG EAST championships and earned 11 NCAA Tournament appearances. In 2016, he and his wife, Mary Ann, made a $5 million gift to the University that included funds for the renovation of the Richie Regan Recreation & Athletic Center and in support of the department's annual leadership forum, which was renamed the Patrick M. & Mary Ann Pfaff Murray Leadership Forum.
