RIP Louis Gossett Jr

Always great to watch him. His performance in An Officer and a Gentleman was exceptional. He rightfully won that Academy Award. What a stacked cast that film had - even had a pre NYPD Blue David Caruso. Heck, Lou even made JAWS3D watchable. He was much more entertaining in that one than a coked out Dennis Quaid. They teamed up again for the pretty good Enemy Mine a few years later. Hadn’t seen Lou in anything new for years, but he was one of those performers that lingered in the mind. He will be missed.
My son and I were driving down the California coast and stopped for lunch at a restaurant on Big Sur. As we were eating in walked Louis Gosset Jr. and sat down a couple of tables away.
