My point is, one of them, or maybe both asked if CC won three NCs. And frankly, I have had enough of his one lol. I am sure Taurasi's college totals are not close to CC. And that is as meaningless as the NCs CC has won in terms of how good each player is.

I am not worked up. Lets go Mets.
Yeah, I'm not sure that actually happened. That's the point. They both spoken well of her.

Are you Knick fans happy?

This is likely as much a business move as it is a talent move. According to the Spotrac, Minnesota is past the second apron of the NBA's luxury tax (around $188 million) even after this move. The Knicks are slightly under that limit but are also hard capped to it this year.

Minnesota with KAT, Anthony Edwards and Rudy Gobert each making over $40 million per year are likely looking to get under that second apron number. It's important because the CBA that went into effect last season makes it more difficult for teams in the luxury tax to make moves.

If I had to guess, the issue with us is not the NIL side, but Sha.
I think this is pretty spot on. For better or for worse, Sha wants to control every aspect of the program.

There's no reason an open practice needs to be tied to University Weekend but apparently it is. So, because UW is as late as it is this year, and because Sha plays everything close to the vest, we can't have one. For the record, I am ok with not trotting out the team for a dog-and-pony show two days before the season starts.

And, yes, I absolutely believe one reason we are not doing a charity exhibition this year is because the team's performance was criticized after last year's game. The other reason is that last year's dance partner has been upgraded to regular season cannon fodder.

Was it though? I enjoyed it because I got to see a game at a site we would never play at and we got a sneak peak at the team. However Sha probably wasn’t a fan. Team wasn’t ready and he got a whole bunch of criticism about his players before the season started.

That's the thing though. The criticism was coming primarily from terminally online fans taking shots at Sha and the program for the margin of victory. That lasted for maybe a day or less, then it died down. Nobody else ended up caring. I feel like at this point SHU of all programs should give less of a crap what anyone thinks. I'd rather the program do something good for Jerry Walker and do something NIL related after and if the team doesn't play as well as they should who cares?

Not a great pres. But a great man.

If those helicooters didnt fail on the hostage rescue attempt i wonder if it goes different for jimmy.
One of my old neighbors, an army guy working out of ft monmouth and far from a lib, told me that the copters they used were the wrong ones to work if a desert is involved. I have looked this up on the web many times and never saw this being discussed. Wonder if anyone ever heard this.

The so-so performance got criticized from some of the small universe that populates this message board. That isn't exactly a broad, far-reaching audience. Beyond that, no one else had a clue. It certainly wasn't something the media seized on or would ever seize on.

I really don't get the downside of doing something like this for the fans in an open and public way, and I think "hiding" behind a closed/secret scrimmage where you can then have "x" staff member feed people like Dan what you want and spin a narrative is weak sauce. If a team has a bad preseason scrimmage, who cares? It isn't going to damn the season or anything, and with our program most if not all the local media isn't going to even notice, forget about the average fans or diehards like us who are going to follow and show up regardless. The only one I ever remember going "viral" was when Cuse lost to a D-II or D-III school many moons ago, and I believe the Cuse went on to have an excellent season that year. I would gladly make that trade.

I don’t watch much WNBA, but Sabrina Ionescu is a similar type player (PG, multi tool, great shooter) and also white and straight.

Clarks records, accompaniments and range are generational. She reminds of Larry Bird who was also a bit of a trash talker. Bottom line she is great for a game that had been struggling.

Banning a writer by the union is stupid and petty.
Union membership can boycot speaking to all media i suppose but have no power in stripping a press badge from a working media member

IIRC there was an autograph session last year with our team promoted by OS during SHU weekend.

Rutgers is in a little different situation than us this year in that people who come want to see Dylan and Ace at least just as much as they would come to see the team, so while they won’t have trouble selling tickets this year they are in a unique opportunity to generate buzz through these events.

That being said I do not understand why there is not a charity exhibition. Last year’s event at NJIT was great. It’s so important to generate buzz and to reach out and plant those seeds with new fans. I understand the need to protect the team to a certain extent but this is the world that we live in, where engagement with the fans and the general public is essential.

If Danny Hurley says about Kadary Richmond, well, how many NCs has he won, I would put DH in that same class as Geno or DT in this discussion. But he would never say that, cause while true, it is snarky and meaningless.

It is like Clark asking if Taurasi scored as many points as she did.

And besides Clarks real accomplishments, she did it under a bigger microscope than any I can remember. I tuned in to show myself she cant be all that. But she was. Then she was, and she was again. Under a magnitude of social media exposure that I am not sure if any college athlete has ever been exposed to.
Yeah, again not sure what you're working yourself up over. Both Taurasi and Auriemna have been nothing but complementary regarding Clark.

(Lol, and I'm pretty sure Taurasi isn't the person you want to ask "have you scored more points than me?" since she is the WNBA all-time point scorer by a wide margin.)

Every one deserves to be judged on the entirety of his life. I tried to do that.
This is not a biography on his life. It's a tribute to a man who is a far better human being than most any of us who is about to reach a major milestone.

Maybe step back a little and just appreciate that.
