Bozzella on the schedule

TROVE: Speaking of the Big East, UConn is UConn and they'll have Paige Bueckers back, but how do you see the rest of the conference shaking out this year?

BOZZELLA: To be frank, the conference has lost a lot of talent. Villanova lost three kids that could have come back. Creighton lost one of their best players that could have come back. You know we lost a starter that could have come back in Micah Gray. You go down the list a couple of these other schools all lost players that could have come back plus we graduated a lot. So the league is still talented, but it's not as talented as it's been. It isn't, you've got to be blunt.

With that being said, I think this is one of our more overall talented teams. So I think, we were picked in that pseudo preseason poll - they do one during the summer to help with the scheduling - we were picked sixth. I think we'll be better than that. Whether we can get into that two, three spot, you know, we have to stay healthy and we have to gel as a team. We have the ability to. We'll see where that ends. We play only Villanova once and Georgetown once. So clearly, we're still playing UConn twice, Creighton twice, Providence was picked third and we're playing them twice. We're faced with a tough schedule, but I do think we have the ability to do really well. It's one of our more overall top to bottom talented teams. If Ramani can play she's an X factor. Ramani's an all-conference level player. You can't just look at her stats she's really good.

Waiting For UConn To Make A Statement

Yeah, but here's the thing if we decreased our budget, they'd be saying well we don't have a big time budget. The reason why we're heavily subsidized is we're not making P4 money. The thing that amazes me is Rutgers has nearly twice our deficit and they're getting paid 70 million a year.
The fallacy is that big time sports is a good financial investment. Fewer than 10 schools run a surplus. Seemingly every dollar earned and more is reinvested.

Crooked Ben Sasse

But, hey, it's not "Red Team" versus "Blue Team." Right?
???

If this had occurred with Democratic politicians, I'd hope that that hypothetical episode would be treated as it should be - a scandal and a classic case of cronyism and corruption.

Imagine a popular Democratic governor in a major state, like JB Pritzker in Illinois - giving a job to Kirsten Gillibrand upon her leaving the Senate to run the University of Illinois system. After a short, unremarkable tenure, she departs and all that the state of Illinois has to show for it are exorbitant spending of state funds, a bunch of meaningless jobs handed out to her political friends in Washington, D.C. (or New York), and a generous golden parachute that the state has to shell out for the next several years.

Do you think Fox News, the New York Post, the WSJ editorial board, Daily Wire, National Review, etc. wouldn't have made a huge deal out of that? Of course they would, and as they should!

DeSantis should absolutely take heat for this, for making the hiring process deliberately opaque and then installing Sasse, his hand-picked choice, to run UF. Great choice, Ron - I hope he was Anti-Woke enough for you. Not that anyone cares outside of the state of Florida. Where's all this MSM bias I keep hearing about?

And one more thing - if anyone thinks my analogy doesn't make sense because Sasse had prior administrator experience, give me a break. Being the president of a small university in Nebraska for four years a decade ago clearly did not make him qualified to be the president of the fifth largest single-campus university in the country. This was one of the issues people had when they protested his hiring, and they were ignored.

“UCONN is one of the most heavily subsidized public FBS athletic programs in the country.” Hmmm, sounds like that’s not going down too well with a number of B12 ADs/presidents.

Bruce Pearl likely turning off some recruits

Umm who’s take was that? Who was comparing that? Haha. It’s like opposite of what I am saying.

Ok, let me slow it down for you.

Disney is Bruce pearl in this example, so the recruits are potential conservative customers/familes..

I mentioned Disney bc some argue that Disney shouldn’t have gotten politcal or taken a political stance, and would have been better off being more neutral or apolitical.

Slow down and understand before you reply please.
I understand it. If I was boycotting Disney and they offered me 7 figures. I’ll be their happiest employee. Business is business. I hold no grudge against Kadary for the same thing. It’s business
