THE GAME
Seton Hall will return to action on Tuesday, November 12 when it hosts local non-conference rival Fordham. Tip time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.

LAST GAME
Graduate student Faith Masonius (Spring Lake, N.J.) had a career-high 23 points as the Pirates routed Wagner, 84-40, in the season-opener Thursday in Walsh Gym. The Hall trailed Wagner, 14-13, with 4:24 left in the first quarter, but outscored them, 71-26, the rest of the way. The suffocating Seton Hall defense forced 26 turnovers and held the Seahawks to just 33.3% shooting from the floor.

Playing in her first regular season game in a Seton Hall uniform, Masonius filled the box score with 23 points, six rebounds, three steals and four assists, one of which was a highlight reel, behind-the-back dime to Kaydan Lawson (Cleveland, Ohio).

Graduate student Yaya Lops (Stamford, Conn.) finished with 15 points, a new high for her Seton Hall career, to go with six rebounds. Amari Wright (Jacksonville, Fla.) nearly had a double-double, finishing with nine points, 10 assists, only one turnover and four steals.

AGAINST FORDHAM
Seton Hall and Fordham will meet for the 14th time in history on Tuesday with the Pirates having won eight of the prior 13 meetings. Most recently, The Hall defeated the Rams, 78-72, in the Bronx on Dec. 17, 2022. The Pirates have won three of the last four meetings. Their last meeting in Walsh Gym, however, was an 82-63 victory for Fordham on Nov. 13, 2021.

SCOUTING FORDHAM
Fordham is coming off a 13-17 season a year ago, which included a 8-10 mark in Atlantic 10 Conference play. The Rams caught fire down the stretch, winning six of their final seven games of the regular season, but exited the Atlantic 10 Tournament with a one-point loss in the first round to Loyola-Chicago.

Taylor Donaldson led the Atlantic 10 with 17.9 points per game and ranked second in steals per game, earning Second Team All-Conference and All-Met honors at season's end. Following her stellar senior campaign, Donaldson elected to return for a fifth season, and will look to lead the Maroon and White once again this year.

This year, the Rams were picked to finish ninth in the 15-team league according to the preseason coaches' poll. Donaldson was named a Preseason First-Team All-Conference selection.

Fordham enters Tuesday's contest with a 1-1 record. The Rams dropped a 58-50 decision to Adelphi in the season-opener, but bounced back with a 66-51 victory over Cal St. Fullerton on Friday. Through two games, Chae Harris leads the team with 11.5 points per game. Irene Murua is averaging 8.5 points and a team-best 7.5 rebounds per game.

Todd Golden preached for Florida fans to let “due process” take its course before judging the allegations levied against him in a Title IX complaint.

The Gators men’s basketball coach was on the sideline for Monday’s 86-62 win over Grambling State, his first public appearance since The Independent Florida Alligator reported that the university was investigating Golden over allegations of sexual harassment and stalking several current and former female students.

Speaking specifically to Florida’s female fans, Golden asked for patience as the inquiry played out.

“Obviously, in this situation, due process and to continue to support guys, and I just would hope that they would allow the process to take place and see where it ends up,” Golden said after the game, according to the Associated Press.

A Title IX complaint was filed against the basketball coach on Sept. 27 and claimed that Golden had made unwanted sexual advances using Instagram along with sending photos and videos of his genitalia and requesting sexual favors.

While the nature of the claims is quite serious, Golden was given a cheer when he was introduced during pregame introductions ahead of Monday’s contest.

However, in one video posted to social media, a fan could be heard booing as the arena house lights came back on.

Golden called the reception he received “great” and said under the circumstances, “I appreciate it.”

“What’s personally getting me through this right now?” Golden said. “Respecting the situation, my family, my team, my coaching staff. We’re just continuing to attack it like we normally would every day.”

While Golden said he couldn’t address the specifics of the complaint, he did commend his staff and players for staying focused on the task of basketball.

The shocking allegations also included instances where Golden allegedly took photos of women and sent the pictures to them along with him allegedly showing up at locations where he knew they would be.

Golden is married and a father of two young boys.

In a statement over the weekend, Golden said that he was speaking with an attorney about defamation claims.
