From everyone I know in NJ that say these are two of the biggest issues they face- food prices are up 30%+ in the last 4 years under Dems. Also, average retail price of electricity is up nearly 40% from Jan’21

But sure those aren’t huge issues for the everyday people of New Jersey.

Does anyone on this board think the government doesn’t need streamlining.

Not at all. I'll wait and see what the recommendations are.

There is plenty of room to cut and streamline. Musk has already said though that their plans "necessarily involves some temporary hardship". Obviously no way to know what the plans are yet, but I do worry about an over correction and the overall impact to the economy. I hope we make cuts where we can while minimizing the broader economic hardship.

There are greater issues than energy and food cost in NJ. I suppose with the proper GOP candidate Trump would endorse. However, there are also state legislature seats to be won/lost

Guy is a rock star, brilliant people are not motivated by money. Money is a by product of their ability to help change the world. Imagine if he was still a Democrat, unfortunately he’s too smart to align himself with Dems. Media doesn’t know what box to put him into so the narrative is to disparage him and make him an enemy. Going to blow up in their faces again.

Dems were dumb not to embrace him years ago, which I assume is because Tesla is non-union. His flip to republican was likely at least partly out of spite. One of his biggest political issues has been global warming and energy policy so I am hopeful he has some influence in that area over the next 4 years.

I was there last night. I know you cannot compare women and men's BB but the big difference I see is that the women are better free throw shooters by far and run very good half court sets with much more crisp passing rather then senseless dribbling . The women's game was a fun watch. Curious to see how they will perform in the Big East . The weakness I see though is height and rebounding . GO PIRATES !!!!!!

Tomato-tomatto . Pelosi enriched herself and her family and made many millions of dollars "serving the peoples interests." Hopefully Musk can bring a fresh perspective. Can't be any worse than how the government is inefficiently run now. Why don't you sit back and see if they make improvements. You can bitch all you want if you don't like the result. Right now you've chosen to bitch about nothing (because they didn't do anything yet) or that you can control. You are bitching for bitching sake and as always not adding anything to the conversation.

Common sense tells me this. He lives a simple life. Every business journal on successful business people will tell you the same message I delivered to you.
Exactly. His biography is fascinating. All that money he makes he plows right back into the businesses to expand and advance them. And those businesses have been good for this country in several levels.

Musk is a disrupter which makes a lot of people uncomfortable. Important to know that he is an advisor, and this is not a full-time position. But based on how he operates, I anticipate he will send teams of people into each of these departments and come out with recommendations for streamlining.

The Hall soars to 2-0 on the young season with a second-straight convincing victory.
SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – Graduate students Yaya Lops (Stamford, Conn.) and Faith Masonius (Spring Lake, N.J.) each scored 17 points as the Seton Hall women's basketball team picked up its second lop-sided victory to start the season, 67-44, over Fordham in Walsh Gym on Tuesday.

The Hall trailed for only the first 1:47 of the contest despite not having a great shooting night. Seton Hall shot only 35.5 percent from the floor, compared to Fordham's 39.5 percent. The Pirates, however, forced 24 turnovers, and committed only 11.

Masonius, the reigning BIG EAST Player of the Week, flirted with a triple-double, finishing with 17 points, six rebounds and six assists. Lops had 17 points, four rebounds and drilled a pair of three-pointers.

Although she didn't have a great shooting night, sophomore Savannah Catalon (Mansfield, Texas) drew six charges defensively. Another defensive star, Amari Wright (Jacksonville, Fla.) had five steals.

THE STORY:
Fordham scored the first bucket of the game, but the Pirates roared to life with a 15-0 run, fueled by a three-point play by Wright and a three-pointers from beyond the arc by Masonius and Shailyn Pinkney (East Hartford, Conn.). Leading 25-19, The Hall took off again, and a 7-0 burst highlighted by a Nicole Melious (Staten Island, N.Y.) trifecta, gave it a 32-19 lead with 2:59 left in the first half.

The Pirates forced 15 Fordham turnovers in the first 20 minutes and took a 38-23 lead into halftime.

Leading by 21 points, Seton Hall had a scoring drought of 5:15, but Fordham could only reduce its deficit to 46-31 with 2:28 left in the third quarter. The Pirates re-found their shooting touch and outscored the Rams, 8-4 in the final two minutes of the quarter.

Seton Hall's lead ballooned to as many as 29 points, 66-37, on a put-back by Kaydan Lawson (Cleveland, Ohio) with 3:20 left in the contest.

I think your take is amusing. Let’s think about Mysk:
- He’s probably had the greatest positive impact on the environment given the number of his EV’s are in use.
- He employs over 200,000 people almost exclusively in the U.S.
- SpaceX is doing what NASA did, faster, better and cheaper…saving taxpayers money while advancing US security.
- Made Starlink available to Ukraine and also in disaster situations like the NC floods.
- Neuralink has the potential to help people with all forms of disabilities.
- He defends free speech.
- And he lives in one house on the SoaceX campus.

His “own interests” seem to be good for the country. If he is advising Trump I see this as a net positive. Isn’t it a good thing he decided to emigrate from South Africa and do what he did here?

Imagine posting details about the Department of Education’s charter, headcount, budget, expenditures, etc. on Twitter. Transparency for the public. I can understand how this might make people nervous because Trump can now take this to an audience that depends on X for its news. Let me know if Twitter Guy posts any of those links.

do you think elon musk is up trumps ass to make america better for americans or do you think it's for his own interests ?

hes clearly in it for his own interests.
Why? Musk isn’t worried about making more money, guys like him don’t get to where they are worrying about their own self interests. He gets off solving problems. He may make more money in the process but that’s not what drives him.
