NEW YORK - Coming off scoring the game-winning goal and helping earn a clean sheet in the men's soccer team's season-opening 1-0 victory, junior
Agustin Resch (Arata, Argentina) has been named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.
Resch provided all the offense the Pirates needed last Thursday night when he headed in a corner kick from fellow junior
Virgil Dall'Agnol (Grenoble, France) past the FIU goalkeeper top middle. It was his second career goal. Resch also was part of The Hall's back line efforts as the Pirates limited the Panthers to three shots on goal.
Seton Hall won its season opener under head coach
Andreas Lindberg for the fifth time in seven tries, and the Pirates are unbeaten in all seven (5-0-2). The Pirates will now host their home opener Thursday night against UAlbany at Owen T. Carroll Field at 6:56 p.m. All Seton Hall home games are free to attend.
