WNBA Union going after christine brennan

I only have a casual interest in the WNBA but Taurasi most definitely make snide comments about Clark at the beginning of the season and then eventually retracted them once Clark proved her mettle.

The eye poke that Fishjam posted was 100% intentional and she should have been suspended.

Clark has an acerbic personality and that does turn off opponents, especially as she is the new girl on campus. I think that more than the fact that she is white has been an issue. There are many other high quality white girls who have played in the league that haven't gone through what Clark has this season.

To clarify, the St Johns exhibition in a couple weeks is a charity game, not NIL. All ticket sales are going to the Jimmy V Foundation.

I brought Schiano up because we get less than zero insights into the football program. I guess now that we're winning it's okay, but generally speaking I feel pretty disconnected as a fan.
I understand it is not NIL but again you still can have autograph signing etc. after the game for NIL they also can promote ticket sales. Hate to say it but ru is doing a good job with NIL and promoting the team. Back at the Hall we are stagnant . Maybe we should go over to the school's busness school ( marketing classes ) and pick the brains of some of the professors there to help us out !!!!!

Are you Knick fans happy?

Julius Randle posts goodbye to New York after Knicks tenure ends with Karl-Anthony Towns trade

By Christian Arnold

Julius Randle said goodbye to New York with a simple message Sunday night.

“NEW YORK! THANK YOU,” Randle wrote in a post on Instagram, along with a photo of him playing at the Garden, just days after news broke of the blockbuster deal that is sending the forward out of town for star Karl-Anthony Towns.

Reports of the massive deal broke late Friday night, and the complicated trade involved sending Randle, Donte DiVincenzo, DaQuan Jeffries and a first-round draft pick to Minnesota for Towns.

The deal has not officially been completed as of Sunday, and ESPN reported the expectation is the trade would be completed “early this week.”

He had also been a two-time All-NBA selection as a Knick.

The Knicks star had just recently been at a groundbreaking ceremony of the Earl Monroe New Renaissance Basketball School in the South Bronx last Wednesday, and he and his family had been in attendance at the Sept. 21 New York City FC match against Inter Miami at Yankee Stadium.

Following the news, Randle’s wife, Kendra, posted a goodbye message to her Instagram story.

“Forever grateful for this experience. New York was amazing to our family,” Kendra wrote. “[Son] Kye Kye grew up in the garden. We got here when he was 1.5 years old and this year he will be 8. So many of you embraced him/us and made this experience unforgettable and I’m forever grateful. Bittersweet moment but so excited for a new, healthy chapter for our family.”

A number of Knicks fans have also posted messages of thanks to Randle for his time with the team, which included a lengthy post on X by actor and noted Knicks fan Ben Stiller.

“Through it all his commitment to the community and the team was and is undeniable,” part of Stiller’s post read. “Grateful for his time here. He is an all star and we’re lucky to have had him. Wish him all the best in Minnesota, he is going to bring a lot of toughness and grit and dedication to that team and community.”

Men's soccer #15 seton Hall versus #24 Connecticut

On the road outscored 1-0 in total by two of the best teams in the conference.

Yes, the offense needs to improve, but the D could not be much better.

Against undefeated UConn they dominated the stats. I know that doesn't mean everything but since I didn't watch the game it's all I can base my opinion on.
Their D has been tremendous and should keep us in every game . We just need to find the net more. We had many great opportunities against Uconn but could not finish. Unlike any other sport scoring is at a premium . GO PIRATES !!!!!

Pirates Storm Back, Earn Point At St. John's (5-2-4), 2-2

Queens, N.Y. — Down 2-0 at halftime, the Seton Hall women's soccer team rallied with two goals in the second half from freshman Olivia Beauvois (Windsor, Conn.) and sophomore Megan Twomey (Oakland, N.J.) that gave the Pirates a 2-2 draw with St. John's and a point in BIG EAST play on Sunday afternoon.

The Pirates (3-6-3, 0-1-2 BIG EAST) earn their a point on the road against St. John's for the first time since 2000 when they came away with three points in a 1-0 win.

Beauvois was assisted on her goal by senior Phoebe Hampson (Chesire, England) and senior Natalie Tavana (Middletown, Conn.). The equalizer was headed in by Twomey off of a corner kick taken by Tavana, giving her two assists on the day.

How It Happened

Both teams adjusted to the slippery and damp conditions on the turf at Belson Stadium as Tavana registered the Pirates' first shot of the game just past the five minute mark in the first half. St. John's struck first in the 18th minute and would double their tally in the 25th minute.

Despite the score, both sides had seven shots in the first 45 minutes and the Pirates had a 3-2 edge in shots on target. Seton Hall continued its pursuit of ending its scoring drought, racking up five shots and drawing two corner kicks through the first 13 minutes of the second half while holding St. John's shotless.

The Pirates' persistence was rewarded following a second ball opportunity off of a corner kick in the 63rd minute. Tavana possessed and surveyed from 10 yards outside the box before sending in a pass that found Hampson and landed at the feet of Beauvois who converted her first career goal and made it 2-1 in favor of the Red Storm.

The Pirates continued to be the aggressor by winning 50-50 balls and staying organized defensively. Twomey entered the second half in the 80th minute and she helped the Pirates equalize five minutes later. Tavana stepped up to take the Pirates' fifth corner of the day and she sent a strike into the scoring area where it found the head of Twomey who scored and knotted up the contest at 2-2.

Inside The Box Score

  • Seton Hall finished with an 18-10 edge in shots and an 8-4 advantage in shots on goal.
  • The Pirates controlled the second half offensively, putting up 11 shots while holding the Red Storm to just three shots.
  • Seton Hall has posted positive results in two of its first three BIG EAST games for the second consecutive season for the first time since the 2010 and 2011 seasons.
  • Beauvois' first career goal gives her four points on the season.
  • Twomey's first goal as a Pirate also gave her the first points of her career.
  • Tavana's two assists on Sunday gives her 49 career points and puts her one point shy of tying Katie Ritter for third in program history.
  • Tavana is now up to 11 career assists, which ranks sixth in program history.
  • Sunday marks Tavana's second career multi-assist game and her first since assisting on two goals against Columbia on Sept. 15, 2022.
  • Tavana played and started in her 69th career match, putting her just outside the top 10 in program history in both games played and starts.
  • Tavana, Hampson, Rachel Gerrie (Littleton, Colo.), Chiara Pucci (Munich, Germany) and Kylie Ray (Hampden, Mass.) played all 90 minutes.
Up Next

The Pirates will be back in action on Sunday when they host Providence at Owen T. Carroll Field at 1 p.m.

Actually, I don't think either have.

It's amazing to me how the Caitlin Clark zealots have a meltdown over any statement that isn't a deification of her.
I mentioned them both (Geno and DT) by name cause I like and respect both and them making the statements surprised me. I assume what disappointed me is on the web but I am sure not going to take the time to find it. Its almost 10M, time for my CC deification prayers.

There you have it .They will have 2 scrimmages where they will raise NIL money with autograph/meet sessions plus create some buzz to buy tickets . I personally have nothing positive to say about Schiano so all I will say is this is his last shot to win . His resume as a head coach in college is average at best and as a pro coach a failure . Meanwhile at the Hall we are still trying to sell watches .
To clarify, the St Johns exhibition in a couple weeks is a charity game, not NIL. All ticket sales are going to the Jimmy V Foundation.

The scrimmage was free but the autograph/meet and greet session after had a fee that went towards NIL. Was very well done and something I hope they continue in the future once Ace and Dylan are gone.

I take it you guys suffer from the same nonsense we do from Schiano with the secrecy. It's maddening, especially when you start the season off with cupcakes.

He'll be the first president to reach 100 years old in HISTORY.

Carter failed to inspire and was the victim of many developments outside his control. Every president is dealt a hand. His wasn’t great. And he didn’t play it all that well. I think his much maligned malaise speech was an apt metaphor for his presidency; an inability to have his message resonate with the public.

Lived the rest of his life with purpose.

Happy birthday Mr President.

He'll be the first president to reach 100 years old in HISTORY.

Sorry boomers—but he actually deserves the credit for things wrongly attributed to your boy Reagan.

A disingenuous and an accurate article. Even Democrats agree that Carter was not a good president so you can stop right there.

If you recall, the threat of SDI (Strategic Defense initiative, or Star Wars), forced Russia to back down and ultimately begin negotiating with the US on a nuclear disarmament plan. So yeah, he spent less money, but it was about the strategy not just building up arms, which was the problem.

Let’s just honor someone who showed dignity while President and class/giving back the rest of his life. Happy Birthday!

Try harder.

Anyway, the above narrative is almost entirely wrong. Carter was a deregulator who didn’t increase deficits much, and appointed the Fed chair who beat inflation. Reagan didn’t do much deregulating, nor did he increase defense spending much as a share of GDP — and the USSR didn’t fall because of the arms race. Let’s go through these points one by one.
