He gamed the system the same way billionaires game the tax system and people game the healthcare system, and every system we have. It's time to admit our systems suck. Trump played the tax system. Let's not pretend he's the only one. Musk played the immigration system. Let's not pretend he's the only one. He came here legally, just not doing what he was supposed to be doing, and nobody checking on him. How do we let people in on the honor system? Insane. Student visa without being signed up for school and we allow it. How? You're insane to point a finger at Musk while not pointing a thumb right back at ourselves for our own negligence. Can anyone just sign up for a student visa and not go to school? Sure sounds like it. These immigrants coming in today play the system, how many are checked on before their court date. None. If the systems are this bad we have to stop putting full blame on the people who play them and add a lot of blame to those who set them up or those who refuse to adjust them. It's borderline criminal to let them off the hook. Trump's first presidency they fought him on everything he wanted to do. Talk about hypocrisy, imagine if democrats weren't calling borders racist 8 years ago we could've all worked together. Issue might be 25 or 50 percent less today. Funny how Kamala is advocating for something she once called un-American, yet her values haven't changed.

Pirates clinch spot in BIG EAST Championship Playoffs, Secure first 10-win season since 2005

CINCINNATI, OH. – A penalty kick conversion from Til Kauschke proved to be the difference in Seton Hall's men soccer team's 1-0 victory over Xavier in Cincinnati. With the victory, the Pirates secured a spot in the BIG EAST Championship Playoffs and their first 10-win regular season since 2005.

The Pirates came out of the gate in this road matchup searching for a goal, nearly finding one in the sixth minute. The Pirates were offered a chance at redemption in the 39th minute when a handball in the box served the Pirates an opportunity to take the lead on a penalty kick. Despite Xavier pressing for the equalizer over the remaining 50 minutes, the Pirates defense and goalkeeper Matias Molina sat on the head and secured the 1-0 victory.

With the win, The Hall moves to 10-4-1 on the season and 3-3-1 in-conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Pirates put pressure on Xavier early in the game with a strong offensive press. Freshman Til Kauschke launched a shot from the top of the box in the 6th minute that barely clanged off the crossbar and kept the game scoreless. Kauschke would not be denied however, as in the 39th minute he converted a penalty kick caused by a Musketeer handball to put the Pirates up 1-0.
In the second half, Seton Hall and Xavier exchanged offensive pressure throughout the half. Then in the 74th minute, the Pirates' Agustin Resch nearly scored a second for the Pirates goal off a corner kick. However, the Musketeers headed the ball off on the goal line, quashing a strong Pirates chance.
In the final 10 minutes, Seton Hall goalkeeper Matias Molina faced immense pressure from a Xavier side that was seeking to keep their season alive. However, strong goal keeping from Molina and great defending from the Pirates' elite backline secured the 1-0 victory and three massive points.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • Til Kauschkescored his third goal of the season
    • This was the Pirates third penalty kick goal of the season.
  • Matias Molina registered two saves, pushing his season total to 21.
  • Molina also registered his fourth clean sheet of the season.
  • The Pirates had four shots on goal to the Musketeers' two.
  • Liam Guske, Jared Smith, Til Kauschke and Jon Vignir Pétursson have started every game for the Pirates.

NEWS & NOTES
  • Seton Hall moves to 10-4-1, while Xavier moves to 4-7-5.

53 points is a little concerning given the biggest question coming into this season is how is this team going to score?

Part of me says ehhh it’s a scrimmage don’t put too much thought into it. But the other part of me says the offense might be as poor as expected.

If Rhoded was playing now and transferred to a few schools chasing $, would he have reached the levels he has so far? I don't believe so. He grew and got better all 4 years and earned his role as being the guy who was going to be a major part of the offense. At many schools he would be a glue guy and maybe the 3rd scoring option.

People give $1000 a year to Onward Setonia for nothing, just a monthly hit to the numbers. Most golfers would jump at the opportunity to play a new private course. In this case, play a course and have a meal with a coach sandwiched between games, while donating likely around $600 to NIL. If you don’t see the value in that, then it’s not for you.

$15k here, $14k there (the hats) other events Onward Setonia put together (jackets, yacht club, etc) are all contributory. All these add to the pool but are trumped by the bigger sums that those who can afford, give.

But ask yourself this, what’s the alternative? What’s your idea to add to the coffers?

Every bit helps or we aren’t competitive. And mind you, you’d be surprised at some of the NIL numbers and what you can get for the mid 5-figure range.

I appreciate your nuanced view, but there are millions of people in the US who came in legally with a Visa but didn’t leave when they should have. Millions who did not have a criminal record and were “checked out” as a Visa was authorized.

They took advantage of us and stayed. Musk would have been required to leave within a couple months after withdrawing from school. He took advantage of us and stayed.

It’s obviously not a big deal, but the small quip does show a little hypocrisy in a time when people are talking about mass deportation but not defining who they would deport.

And as I have said here several times, I think Trump would be better for controlling the border than Harris but I don’t like his anti immigrant rhetoric (poisoning the blood of our country, etc) and I believe people who have been here for years if not decades at this point, who have lived normal lives, and not committed any crime should be given a path to citizenship.
