Trump’s reaction to Putin bombing Kiev shows how he is absolutely clueless in foreign policy matters. What made him think that Putin is nothing but a murderous thug.? Did he really think Putin is going to listen to him? Is he that delusional that Putin would not have invaded Ukraine if he was President? Despite Putin relentlessly bombing Kiewv, Trump has to bash Zelensky. There is no peace with Putin until he is defeated. We must continue to arm Ukraine with whatever they need to defeat Putin. As I posted a video of John McCain who stated that Putin wants Ukraine as part of Russia. And he won't stop until he gets it. Trump tries to appease Putin and he still can't come to the realization of what Putin is.

Yet another objective analysis. I wish our party would use this approach in the media

Is continuing to issue blank checks to Ukraine a good answer? It's not going to help them defeat Russia and only causes much more death to Ukrainians and Russians alike.

Need a peace settlement here and this is how I'd like to see it:

1) Mutual ceasefires/return of all prisoners.
2) Unfortunately Crimea is gone to Russia, the time to do something about that was 10 years ago.
3) Restore borders back to before the current invasion.
4) If no. 3 is not acceptable to Russia, then Ukraine must either be allowed to join NATO (preferable) or be given explicit Section 5 protections.
5) Russia to provide monetary support to rebuild Ukraine.
6) Sanctions to be lifted against Russia.

Now if U.S. interests are really at stake, you know what that means. I don't think they are, so why get involved any further?

Not bad but here is the problem. # 3 Russia will not go back to pre invasion borders. What’s the point of joining NATO when the US gave Russia 20% of their land? That is going to be unacceptable. Plus Russia wants it all.

Putin does not want peace and therefore the war shall be fought and we and Europe shall support Ukraine in every way. Russia can’t afford this war if Trump now sends his support to Ukraine.

Essentially what you proposed was what Trump wanted without the NATO membership and it was still turned down by Putin!

So then proceed with number 4. If it really is in ours and Europe’s vital interests, join militarily and defeat Russia rather than send blank checks that won’t solve the issue. Is it really vital?

With regard to four, Putin demanded that Ukraine be demilitarized and neutral and rejected the proposal. Now what?

There is no choice but to batter Russia economically and militarily. The US and Europe must contribute to support the war effort against Russia.

The US mostly sends military equipment and not blank checks to Ukraine. That equipment is built in the US by American companies that puts lots of people to work. No one wants to put American lives at risk. It is better to support them

So we move forward without Russia's consent and give Ukraine NATO membership and/or Section 5 guarantees.

Supplying equipment and funds hasn't done much to deter Russia and won't do so in the future either. Need more than that. A bandaid on a major open wound won't do.

I'm off to Naples Pizza.
