Seton Hall Rebound With 2-0 Win, Coach Lindberg Claims 50th Win
SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. –
Hugo Gerbore and Rikard Cerderberg provided the firepower as No. 15 Seton Hall men's soccer secured a historic 2-0 win against Lehigh. The victory was Head Coach
Andreas Lindberg's 50th win with the Pirates.
The Pirates struck early in the second half with a with a 52nd minute goal from
Hugo Gerbore (Moelan Sur Mer, France). The Hall earned their second goal of the night off the foot of
Rikard Cerderberg (Gothenburg, Sweden) following a corner kick in the 73rd minute.
Soren Jensen (Nyborg, Denmark) closed the door in the final minutes amid Mountain Hawk attacking chances, securing the 2-0 victory.
With the win, The Hall moves to 7-1-0 on the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The two teams played a scoreless first half, despite strong Pirate attacking chances. The Pirates outshot the Mountain Hawks seven – two in the first half.
In the second half, The Hall finally broke through Lehigh's defensive wall. In the 53rd minute,
Jack Kossoudji (Columbus, OH) drove to the endline before sending a pass that
Hugo Gerbore buried in the back of the net for his first goal of the season.
In the 73rd minute,
Rikard Cederberg scored his first goal of the season off a chaotic corner kick that saw
Axel Berglund (Turku, Finland) and
Til Kauschke (Hamburg, Germany) register assists.
Soren Jensen ensured the Mountain Hawks' night remained unfruitful as the game came to a close, securing the 2-0 win for the team and his second clean sheet of the season.
