It's disheartening. I've been attempting to raise funds for 2 years and the lack of financial support for our coach, from the alumni/fanbase, is telling. I'm asking for just $10 in support of this event and have fewer than 200 people who entered, all with a $3200 carrot for the winner.

Seems like a no brainer to enter. People spend more money entering college tournament brackets or SB box pools where the opportunity to win is either astronomically smaller or the prize payout is far less enticing. That's without even getting into that it helps the programs. Weird behavior. I couldn't offer too much, but I at least entered.

NIL has had that affect on many “former” fans of college b-ball, myself included. Sha’s sideline shenanigans, team effort etc. has soured me, a former athlete & parent of 5, on college sports in general. I didn’t even fill out a bracket for the first time in 50 years.

Agreed. It's a nice prize, but the thought of lining the pockets of some kid who will just transfer after a year is a bridge too far.
