If you're a Kick fan and assuming there are no trades and no player drops into your lap here are your 2 best options

Dennis Smith Jr. or Frank Ntilikina

Dennis Smith Jr. or Frank Ntilikina

BTW, the player is just 18 years old.

Frank Ntilikina
Position: Point Guard. Height: 6-5.

Age: 18. School: (France).

Breakdown: Phil Jackson has established his preference for European players, or the type whose personalities haven’t been exposed to the pick-and-roll heavy AAU game. The thinking is that the Europeans are more amenable to running the triangle. It’s why you shouldn’t be surprised if the Knicks go for Ntilikina, a Frenchman, who played professionally in Belgium last season. Ntilikina has nice size and plays selflessly, but there are questions about his ability to matchup up physically with bigger and stronger athletes in the NBA. In other words, the same concerns with most European prospects.

Dennis Smith
Position: Point guard. Height: 6-3.

Age: 19. School: N.C. State.

Breakdown: Great offensive production from Smith last season a little more than a year removed from ACL surgery, averaging 20 points and seven assists as a freshman. He can drive and finish with the best of them, especially in the open court. But Smith has a lot to learn about being a point guard and leading a team. The Wolfpack finished dead last in the ACC in defense, and Smith’s contributions to that disappointment will be heavily analyzed. The last thing New York’s porous defense needs is a redo of Derrick Rose guarding the perimeter.

I would love to be in the interview process NBA teams have when the hire these scouts. Best liar wins the job.
I'm just happy everything worked out well for IW. You could fill a book with all the names of players who screwed their future by leaving school too soon.

They even screwed SHU. Without their guarantee Whitehead would have played at the Hall this past year.
Haha thats true. But the fact that last year all their PGs were hurt, they dont have a 1st round this year, they dont have one next year, hes literally fell into a situation i would classify as beyond perfect. At least for the type of player he was going into the draft.

It was a perfect storm for him. The only team that told his family they would take him (in the second round) was the Nets.

Their roster was depleted. They had little hope for the future because of their ridiculous trades. And IW was a local star from Brooklyn playing in the Metro area.

In almost any other scenario he comes back for his junior season at the Hall. But it didn't work out that way.

The good from this is at least he showed he can compete at the highest level and with the Nets being one of the worst teams in the league for the next 3-4-5 years he'll certainly get his chance to play.

There are questions about 90+% of the first round draftees but a large number of the Europeans drafted have proven they belong in the NBA .

I don't know how far the apple falls from the tree, but I'd love to see the Celtics trade their first pick to Philly who then takes Ball away from the Lakers. Ball SR. will be hit with 76er fans.
