Seton Hall Giving Day 2025 is fast approaching! The two-day event that rallies Pirate Nation together in support of our student-athletes takes place in one week, Wednesday, April 9 and Thursday, April 10.

We need your support as we embark on a new era of collegiate athletics, an era that will include student-athlete revenue sharing!

We have a lot of excited Seton Hall fans ready to lead the charge, and headlining our challenges are the 250 donors for $250K challenge! If 250 people donate to men's basketball revenue sharing during Giving Day, a group of anonymous donors will give $250,000!

In addition to men's basketball, we have some returning challenges and two new ones for women's basketball and swimming & diving:

  • Our popular 50 states for $50K challenge returns! When (not if!) we receive a gift from at least one donor in each of the 50 U.S. states on April 9, we will unlock a $50,000 gift from an anonymous donor!
  • Our 14 varsity teams will be broken up into four divisions, and the team that produces the most donors in its division across the two days will receive an additional $2,000!
  • Women's basketball will unlock a $15,000 gift from anonymous donors if we reach 100 donors to women's basketball across the two days!
  • And our swimming & diving program will unlock a $10,000 gift from Joseph Kacirek '81 if we reach 100 donors to swimming & diving across the two days!
While Giving Day officially starts on April 9, you can help lead the charge with an early gift today! This special Giving Day link is one that can be used to donate through April 8!

Let's help make a difference for Seton Hall Athletics and our continued pursuit of excellence in competition and in the classroom!

I will as alway do my best to help the school with this very critical endeavor.

I will donate a sizable amount and also help the school with their 50 state challenge as I have a relative in New Mexico to help with that state. I will also be in contact with Niko at the school when he needs help and pass his message on to this board.

Please do your best later in the week starting April 9th to help the Pirates meet and then hopefully exceed all the challenges set up as noted above.

For those unaware..Paul contacts many, many people in different states he knows where he has store chains to donate. It's because of his work at the end of the day covering needed states that the Hall hits their $50K challenge.

On top of that I have no doubt that Paul contributes a big time donation as well.

Thank you Paul for all your efforts.

Sorry, as a former athlete, count me out, and I’ve been in since this donation started (original Vegaspj). 😰 Can’t support pro athletes vs student athletes. I’ll still donate, but to academics only. 😄 (PS - good luck to Paul, he’s done a great job in the past getting the necessary states!)

Just stating my reason why I can’t/won’t contribute to pro athletes. I now realize Opposing views need not be posted during your swan song as moderator. I get it. 😵‍💫 Sorry we disagree.

Do not waste your money!! We have a coach that refuses to hire a GM, we have a coach that refuses to play payers even though everyone in our conference is.

We have the money to spend but Shaheen is holding us back.

Maybe fans like you are as well. Money is critical but you come here telling people not to donate.

You more than anyone in the administration is the problem.

Maybe they are incompetent as you see them but they are trying. You do nothing but complain going on more years than I can count!

No, but where they're posted is the key.

This is a financial drive needed for SHU for obvious reasons. What's the point of posting you won't donate. What purpose does this serve on this particular thread?

None!

Dan, why have we not hired a GM?
I agree one is needed. So far Bryan Felt has hinted that someone will be hired without the title. That sounds like we're going cheap and in the long run that in my opinion is a mistake.

But, I am sure lack of money is at least an issue and that's one reason this drive is so important.

The money is there. The person not wanting to give up control is also there.

This is 100% fact.

Your opinion and you’re entitled to it. I’ve donated to Pirate Blue every year since it started. Went to almost all home games & NYC/NJ games (‘64-‘68). Out of area from ‘69-‘75 but then went to most home & NJ games + CT & PC games from ‘76-‘84 & donated time to scout recruits in CT & MA, while living in Hartford area. Out of area since then.
Point is - we obviously have totally different views on this. You wanna solicit funds for pro athletes - great. I happen to be against it. So if you don’t post soliciting funds, I can’t respond on behalf of student athletes against it. Didn’t realize opposing views were unwelcome. Long live NIL. NOT!

There are other SHU teams that you can donate to where the athletes are not pros. That goes for anyone else feeling the same way.

What is ironic is they really can't put up a video of a basketball player asking for a contribution because by my count, we only have 3 players currently on team (excluding Clark).

Exactly. Lord knows the baseball team could use money, if not miracles from the lord. Our swimming & diving team also has been producing a lot of quality athletes; I'm sure they would appreciate the support.

Last day and we're a little more than halfway there.

Please help. Even if you just give a small donation. It's the number of donors that will meet the challenge not how much they gave.

Give separately to the challenges except for the 50 State Challenge which has already been met.

If you can't afford a huge donation just give $10.00 each to men's BB, woman's BB and swimming and diving. That's $30 and three contributions that will help get $250K for the school.

Just got an email from the school.

I will pass it on...

Your site crushed it for us! Thank them for us.

Our main goals for today are:

MBB Rev Share $250k match is 60% completed.
WBB Rev Share $15k match is 32% completed.
Swimming & Diving $10k match is 45% completed.

If you can push out to you contacts on the board again. Any amount is important and will help us get one step closer to hitting every challenge and match this Giving Day!

C'mon guys, give as little or as much as you can. Hitting all our targets is very important to the athletic programs at the Hall.

Another 65 donors needed to reach challenge goal for Sha's team!

74% to the goal

We're talking about 1/4 of a million dollars. Think how much that will help the Men's BB program.

and

Another 44 donors needed to reach the challenge goal for Tony's team!

56% to the goal

$15,000 should be easily attainable for the women's BB program.

and finally

Another 41 donors needed to reach challenge goal for the swim/diving teams

59% to the goal

$10,000 is critical to these athletes.

Money tight? Just donate a $1 to each team. If 61 people donate to all three programs that's $265K to SHU

THANK YOU

Another 2 donors needed to reach challenge goal of $250K for men's BB

Be the one to put us over the top

Then we can concentrate on the Swimming and Diving Challenge who needs 10 donors to unlock $10K
