1) Cancelling oil pipeline and banning drilling on Federal lands 2) The Border crisis caused by eliminating Trump policy on stay in Mexico and 3) the Afghan chaotic withdrawal.I know left will say that is just Joe being Joe.Obama was right when he said don’t underestimate Joe’s ability to F things up.

Did Trump have 3 strikes as big as these 3 all threats to national security if so can you name them.
Yes, and not worth debating. And I could find them for Obama. For Bush. for Clinton. Presidents are not infallible, and there was a time when I had more of a belief in the branches checking each other but legislators are a bunch of asshats too.

Kind of a silly thread.

#1 is a good thing.

#2 isn't a good thing, but not quite Biden's fault. We have been kicking the can down the road and ignoring immigration reform for decades.

#3 is bad so far for sure.

#1 is not a good thing. The broader issue is energy independence . We have lost that. Begging OPEC to increase production is not a good thing, It is a threat to national security.

#2 is squarely on Biden. He halted the fence. He allowed porous boarders. Trump sent people back. Biden overruled that. We have way too many people walking in outside of port of entries. Untold bad actors have entered and we have lost control of the border.

#3 is an unmitigated disaster. The ramifications go far beyond the horrible images of Afghanis falling from planes. We have lost our credibility on the foreign stage. We have created a fertile sanctuary for terrorist and jihadists. This a threat to our security and the stability in the region. Russia, Iran, and China will jump on this opportunity.

Having said, now is not the time to publicly trash the president Despite him screwing up, we need to stand behind our country and our president and do what it takes to try to correct this debacle.

Asking OPEC to increase production was to try and stabilize global speculation. It wasn’t so we could import more. Nothing to do with the pipeline at all.

Also, a pipeline running through American with tar sands crude will leak. Not a matter of if, but when. Just because it’s the cheapest way to get oil from a to b, doesn’t mean it’s the best way.

Nah. Immigration was Trumps issue. He had a majority and couldn’t get his wall or any real immigration reform. Expecting Biden to have fixed it by now is disingenuous. It is a problem and something he needs to focus on, but not going to kill him for not fixing something in under a year that none of his predecessors were able to fix over the last few decades.

Come on man! Lol… for four years all we heard was humanitarian crisis, babies being ripped from their mothers arms, dreamers, etc. there’s a Democratic majority now and where is the plan with DACA? Illegals flooding the border. Not a humanitarian crisis anymore?

And how about gun control. If you have a majority are you still worried about the bankrupt NRA?

Right, 4 years vs less than 1. I’d like to see something get done, but he gets time just like everyone else.

Political capital is around infrastructure right now. I would like to see immigration reform pushed next before the midterm cycle.

So a humanitarian crisis can wait? Should we make a friendly wager? Lol

With politicians yes. They will kick the can down the road if they can get away with it.

I can’t predict what will happen but I will hold judgment on Biden on the issue for now. As much as I would like him to be the most productive president we have ever had, that’s not going to happen. In my opinion, immigration should be the next major debate after infrastructure.

Based on his start he is no better than those who preceded him recently. I am rooting for him too, but so far it’s been pretty bad.

I'll keep it simple:

Energy dependence => Bad
Energy independence => Good

Regarding the border, nobody said or expects it to be fixed in 7 months. It would have been better if he did nothing. Biden's actions since he took office created his first debacle. If you think there is no problem at the border than you are getting your news from blind resources.

This energy dependent meme going around is just plain wrong. (US) production of oil is fine. SPK posted it in an earlier thread. Of course production would go down during the pandemic because of demand. Trump asked OPEC to decrease production due ti the glut of oil which was collapsing the US oil industry. Now demand is on the rise so a (US) president wants to increase production. To stabilize oil prices.

Moreover, the pipeline was for foreign oil coming into the country. This whole energy dependent argument is a fallacy.

So great if Biden is forced out we get Kamala???? Pick your poison. Although George Soros may be more in charge than anyone at this point.

My biggest problem with this administration is their policy of just handing out money right and left. It is killing Americas work ethic and will add more permanent payments to our ridiculous budget deficit every year going forward. Buying votes, keeping healthy working people at home and destroying Americas fabric and economy. This is a really bad set of circumstances that is not good for anyone. We need to lift people up, train and help them get jobs, not create inflation while doling out free money. We need to encourage people to get back to work. America was built on opportunity through working for it. The expanded child care credit, sending money directly to people for lunch programs even though they didn't ask for it and continuing to expand the unemployment benefits and not allowing eviction is destroying many businesses and creating inflation. I can provide many examples of how this is hurting businesses, our economy and people who took risks to own property/businesses. And who pays for it all - the working class which is shrinking due to these policies. But there is no inflation??? Wake the F up America!

When your big apologists on MSNBC start critizing you Psaki will need time to circle back with what they meant was.Brian Williams ( of helicopter under fire fame ) Nicole Wallace said to their guest that 95% of Americans agree with everything Biden said Monday on Afghanistan were shocked when the guest said I must have heard a different speech than you.Generally they only allow guests that will agree with them as do the other opinion shows ( Maddow, Lawerence ( no clue ) O’Donnel,Homophoic Joy Reid, and Fredo ( I now realize it was wrong to give advice to Randy Andy )The love affair with European journalist didn’t hold steady with some editorials referring to him as Joke Joe.However fellow senility politician Pelosi things it was a great policy by Biden.Madame Speaker have you nonshame.

This is unintelligible. Your thoughts are all over the place without making any sense. Any semblance of grammar or punctuation would be nice as well.

Not worth debating or you can’t come up with examples other than mean tweets and the subjective opinion that his general attitude has injured our international reputation? I can only think of one example remotely close to the three things Ed mentions. I still support our current President and hope he improves our country. Not crying everyday about how much I disagree with him.

To amplify the point, U.S. oil production is at near historic high levels.

I can predict what will happen NOTHING. Immigration is modern day slavery plain and simple and I don’t see Lincoln waiting to run for President. When people realize why nothing ever gets done we will all be better off. Same thing as homelessness, these folks do not consume enough goods and merchandise to be worth anything to Politicians. Whereas immigrants provide cheap labor and make good slaves. People are blinded by the media and talking heads, we need to wake up.

The pictures of dead, injured bloody woman and children is heartbreaking. This is a real humanitarian crisis. I would hope all those groups and individuals who pounded that saying and the famous “ripping children from their mothers” are just as vocal about these atrocities. I know the officials can’t say much definitively in these press conferences, but they all sound like lost puppies.

Don't hold your breath.

That is simply incorrect.
This May be a matter of semantics. So far in 2021, production has been higher than 2018 and any year before and we are still dealing with CoVid. However, it is clearly lower than 2019 and the prepandemic months of 2020.

However what is clear that we are somehow energy dependent is absolute nonsense.

How is it semantics when it is simply an incorrect statement, SMH?

We are also clearly not energy independent which we could and should be. Did e how loud OPEC laughed at Biden’s request?

Well, when it is the third highest production year and for postpandemic 2020 months, the trend line for 2021 is exceeding those months, you can say it near historic highs.

He didn’t say it was at a historic high. Moreover, there is this argument we went from energy independence from Trump to dependence since Biden. You also stated this. That’s just false.

Notice, with each addition to the list, things continue to go from bad to worse! The idiot in DC also fully equipped the Taliban so if you think things are going to get better anytime soon you are sadly mistaken!

The optics are not good when you cut oil production in the USA. We all seem to think if it doesn’t happen on our soil it’s better for the environment. Last I heard the world or Mother Earth is round so we can control the pollution here or close our eyes and pretend somebody in the Middle East can do it better. Right now we are closing our eyes for a lot of the production. Maybe next we can throw our support to the taliban and help finance terrorism again. They need money and jobs too.

Uhm, Trump made the deal with the Taliban. That equipment was going to end up there no matter what. Remember, Trump freed Taliban members from the jails, including one of the founders of the Taliban who is now their leader.
.

Now if you want to say that Biden was an idiot for going along with the deal Trump made with the Taliban, then I would agree with you 100%

Not sure how you get there.
Currently at 11.4 million barrels per day which is up 17.5% in the last year.

Oil companies have plenty of land available to use. They do not need new leases. A moratorium on leases will not impact jobs. If oil companies want to produce more, they will by using some of the millions of acres that are available to them and unused.

In any case, like I said. US oil production has increase by 17.5% since last August.

Um, that was Obama that freed him.

Wrong guy. The leader of the Taliban is the guy with Pompeo Mullah Baradar. Its easy to confuse these guys. But Obama freed 5 Taliban prisoners, Trump freed 5000.
