this is the 2nd thread on this, but didnt these people put themselves in this position? to be here illegally?
Not going to defend that one. It's beyond absurd.
Yeah, makes absolutely no sense to put this out there. I can’t imagine who would support this.

Will struggling black families get 450k? If they don’t I would have to believe that would piss them off and stop many from showing up to vote
In a way, I get the argument in the Washington Post that juries might award families much more and any private company would consider settlement.
But, and it’s a big but, that’s just batshit crazy. It’s a criticism of our court system and how asinine juries could be that a lawsuit could be brought forward and won for multiples of that. I feel for the families, but I also feel for the millions of impoverished Americans who could use a hand out as well. I don’t want a society/political system that is flat out socialism.
Many Americans can make an argument that the government has put them in a situation where they have little help to pull out of poverty. Putting government resources in one place over another causes a job disparity, where’s the hand out for the “losing” town and people. Can they bring lawsuits as well?
If this is carried forward, the overwhelming response from 99.9% of Americans will be rage, myself included. The Republicans will handily win mid-terms and likely impeach Biden. Maybe this isn’t impeachable, but damn they’ll find a way and it’ll be supported. Don Jr. could run in 2024 and win (maybe even Eric 😂).

When she arrives home she tells them that she was only kidding about being pregnant but in fact has flunked math.
The parents are so relieved that the original news isn't true, they willingly accept the second bit of news.
And so maybe Biden's going to talk up $450,000 and end up giving something much much less and the average idiot will think it's a victory.
It's the same thing they're doing with the BBB and infrastructure bills.

There is really no amount acceptable though.
My hope is that this leak was by someone in the administration or DOJ that isn’t batshit crazy and was intentional to kill any talk of a settlement.
I would make an argument that my family extended included are in the spot we are because of past policies not despite it. Irish need not apply. Ginny, go lay bricks. Polish, just be a mule.
