Really good piece on Danny. The Lakers stuff in the OT segment overlapped what him and his wife said in that interview depth interview they had over the summer with that guy whose name I am forgetting. But I thought the piece did a good job at conveying for the average person what he’s like as a coach. From the quirks to the intensity to the insane behavior at times.

I still believe that Danny will coach in the NBA one day and I could see him coaching the Knicks . If that doesn’t work out he wouldn’t have any trouble finding a head coaching job back in college.

Agreed. Lakers are a horrible situation to get yourself into as a coach with LeBron having a new coach every year and LeBron is fully responsible for the demise of the NBA. Better opportunities will come around

That may have been the case in August but it’s not the case anymore with Luka in the picture and 40 year old LeBron presumably on his way out.

Lebron isn’t out until he’s out. Coaching Luka would’ve been great, but still being attached to LeBron short term is too big a risk

I am very happy for Dan and am proud of the man he has become. He dealt with some tough stuff being son of a legend (wonder if he and his asst discuss what it was like to follow such well know men as Bob Sr and Bill Murray) and a brother whose accomplishments over shadowed even being named Gatorade POY in NJ.

He had his issues at SHU. He stayed and finished his career here. He went forward, dealt with his issues. Never a bad word or an excuse. Succeeded at every stop. Couldnt be happier for him.

Agree 100% and he met his wife here too!

The most appealing aspect of Danny is his authenticity. He's genuine to a fault. Crazy at times but real. (punting the ball in practice felt a little contrived although I saw Raf do it back in the 70's in a real game. Gotta admire the passion he brings to everything. Can't see how he can continue at this level of intensity. Conn fans ( @CL82 would concur) are really demanding. As long as he is at a high level, things are great. Will be interesting to see play out - the tidbit about 50% thinking about the portal is interesting. A lot of highly recruited guys get little burn in their second year. Bottom line - the guy is top level college coach, if not the top guy right now.

Oh the footage...seeing Jerry, Terry and Arturas on the court. Bitter sweet. Thinking of what could have been. What a wonderful team. They deserved better.
