So I went to watch the A 10 tournament. A few things I noticed was the fact that the teams did not have the size or the athleticism that I see in every Big East Team. But they more than make up for it in heart, passion, and the systems that each team runs. Watching each team run their offenses was honestly a thing of beauty. Pick and rolls, crisp passing, driving and dishing, and the defenses were switching like crazy. For the first time in weeks I was actually happy at a basketball game and I had no rooting interest. I wasn't screaming and yelling, frustrated, or upset. I was just enjoying really well played basketball. I truly miss that. It has been a long time since we have had that consistently. Just thinking about that is both maddening and sad. I am going to enjoy good basketball for the next few weeks and hope against hope that next year we may see change.

Our BigEast game against Marquette was so bizarre. The only moment I thought SHU had a chance was when Gibbs hit that 3 in the last minute of the 1st half. Aside from the beer it was like being at a wake.

Thumbs up to both posts.

We have immediately begun enjoying REAL basketball - it's a solace of some kind. That and the beer.

Spot on Rimas, I am a St. Bonaventure grad and caught the Dayton/SBU game last night and it was a good one. I may be biased but Coach Mark Schmidt of SBU gets every ounce of ability out of his players, I don't think they have one guy who was rated in the top 500 and they can usually hang with just about anyone. I follow both SHU & SBU very closely, SBU usually overachieves and SHU underachieves because of the coach. ( Not that anyone really cares )

Davidson, Richmond, VCU are also great teams to watch, pretty sure Bob McKillop of Davidson was once in the mix for the SHU coaching job, who knows if he could have recruited good enough but man can he coach. My Son who is 12 was at the A-10 tourney all day with my Wife and he asked why can't SHU play like all of those teams, I think he knows the answer.

I really think SHU was playing with efficiency early on and it was great to watch, but once teams figured us out and adjusted we had no answers and did the same thing over and over. I am no coach but anyone with half a brain could see that, it falls directly on Willard and staff.

Who is everyone pulling for , Nova or X ?

For Nova for the sake of league stature.

Since the on-court rumble triggered by Tu Holloway, I simply do not like X and do not intend to root for them.

Hey Pirate64,

I am a 1987 grad of Saint Bonaventure University, 83 grad of Seton Hall Prep and a Masters student of SHU. ( Still in process, just a few classes )

I grew up in South Orange and live there now after living in West Orange, Morristown & Hoboken. My Father was dear friends with RR, used to take tickets at Walsh, up top, probably let in a ton of kids/let us in and sent us to the stage.

I also sold popcorn for Fin Tracy, my best night was against ARMY in 77 ?? who was that big guy ?? Springer ?

Nice memory, Gary Winton ..... he was tough, it was a sellout that night, place was packed.
