On the Nets, I remember wondering if the narrative would change at all when they had the big 3 of Durant, Harden and Kyrie. I remember the J-Kidd years, and even though the Nets were going to finals and the Knicks were an absolute mess, the casual NY/NJ sports fan didn't seem to care one bit. The Knicks were still the Knicks for all their problems.
Because the NBA is a star-driven league, and with the move to Brooklyn, I thought maybe, just maybe the Nets would eat into the Knicks and alter the dynamic (however slight) by having 3 of big stars in the league in their respective primes, especially Durant and Kyrie who were insanely popular with kids.
And yet it didn't matter at all.
