First, does Xavier get to Dayton? Would really boost the Big East’s profile to get five teams in. I know it’s all relative but they have a solid resume with a 45 NET including wins over Creighton, UConn and Marquette. No bad losses. I think it helps they played their best ball down the stretch although we know that’s not officially part of the criteria.
Second, does any Big East team not named St John’s avoid the 8/9 game? I’d rather not have to face Auburn, Duke, Houston or Florida in Round 2. I think Marquette’s body of work should get them on 7-line. Top 25 team most of the season. Beat Maryland, Purdue and Wisconsin early this year.
