We are five games into the season and we are 4-1.

I think we have real tests coming up against Georgia and GW.

Although I am no fan of Willard with high hopes when he came in and now looking for considerable improvement, the fire Willard and get someone else by name threads prior to the BE season is beyond stomach churning. The team seems to have some momentum coming off the second half of the Ole Miss game.

LBS is not as bad as many had thought, Dan Monson is a very good coach. I propose a moratorium on the fire Willard threads until we know where we stand in the conference. I don't think they help anybody.

The team does read the free board as well as recruits and isn't enough that they get their information from everywhere else rather than have who are supposed to be the LOYALIST Pirate fans out there blasting at this point in time. It is kind of like taking a crap on your own head. Why?

I know this is a chat board but after 25 years of being a fan of the team, it is so tiring and demoralizing to see this stuff every other post that we read. Let it go for a while and let's try to enjoy the team we LOVE for as long as we can.

All of the threats of Season ticket abandonment did not come true. Sales are actually up. So it is some very loud people who are making the most noise. I don't like the situation, but I am adult enough to understand that there is nothing I can do about it now or maybe ever. So let's just stop for a few months and hope something good come out of this team who seems to have some talent.

I like the players and if they can put together a complete game like they did against Ole Miss in the second half, maybe we have something to really cheer about.

I know this may fall on deaf ears, but it could help those of us who suffer from IBS and other stress related conditions that get angry every time we seem to repeat the same chant over and over. All I am asking is to give it a break.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

I can appreciate your point, but you're suggesting censorship which I am boldly opposed to. It's a free message board, with freedom of speech and quite frankly the diversity of opinion is healthy. If you don't like a thread or a post simply ignore it. There are even buttons to do that. There are certain posters that drive me crazy too, but I deal with it how I see fit. Unless they break the rules I would never suggest that they stop posting.

I fully support the players and will root for them. We all want the same result. Probably not what you wanted to hear, but we are all entitled to our opinion. Hope you have a happy thanksgiving as well.

Great Post Iron! The Seton Hall Men's Basketball season is the only sports season that I get to have multiples. I will always root and support our beloved Pirates!

This site becomes unreadable when every post starts by attacking the coach. Why can't we just talk about and support our team during the season and then discuss whether the coach should or should not be replaced at the season's end.

GO PIRATES !!!

As a non-adult I understand this post as a universal acceptance of the fire him asap and leave this subject alone as long as I can control myself.

Please say whatever you want. I am not opposed to anyone's rights under the First amendment. I was just asking for a little time and consideration for those of us who just want to enjoy and not constantly be barraged by the drama. I am also not a hate Willard person. I have found after six years, he may be done. Not my choice. Let's see what this team does and see what decisions get made. If they bomb and nothing happens we have a huge period from March to October to vent all of the vitriol we want without breaking board rules. And again to all Pirate fans and everyone Happy Thanksgiving. See you Saturday night for Georgia. I hope we can make a positive statement.

Free speech includes freedom to keep quiet.

Why be so anxious to come here and say the same damned thing. Give a big check and they may pay attn. Coming here after the next loss and saying willard sucks only makes this forum less enjoyable. It impacts nothing else. There is room between pollyanna and predictor of catastrophe. We can honestly discuss basketball without being so strident.

I don't want censorship unless it is self-censorship.

A terrific post ironlung. Let's just try to enjoy this season. the coaching situation can be discussed at seasons end. it really serves no purpose to rehash the same thing day after day and post after post. I hope we are all rooting for the Pirates to WIN and not against us just to prove a point about the current coach.

GO PIRATES !!!

Why I have always liked D.... Seton.

There are no wrongs in this debate and the positions advocated by ironlung on one side and Hall85 on the other both have merit to their arguments and each of us will make our choice on which path they will follow. With minor exceptions most of us would prefer to have a program that performs in a way that removes any incentive to consistently harp on the negative instead of lauding the positives. Many have suggested that we postpone the debate on our coach until the season plays out, a noble goal and one which should be seriously considered .Ever the realist , however I must proffer that I believe that noble goal will only be attainable if the season doesn't deteriorate into chaos as we saw last year and absent that we really should let the season play out.

Freedom to keep quiet? Really?? I don't like extreme posts either, but who am I or you to judge what is enjoyable? Read and engage with who you choose and ignore what you don't.

Yeah. You know. Like shut up and sing...................

The posts we are talking about don't ruin my day. I don't ignore any poster. But all they do is make the one place to discuss Pirate hoops into a worse place. I never got the point of it all.

I self edit my posts often.

Great post Ironlung! I can't stand to read the redundant negative comments by a small minority of our posters.

And although we disagree on many topics, I do enjoy reading your posts. There's a lot of good stuff and great posters on this board. I can't remember the last time I picked up the NSL or any newspaper to read an article about SHU hoops. You can't beat the content and discussion. There are extremists too which grate on me,,,,much like most politicians:). The day we start lecturing (thus censoring) people on what they should say feels wrong to me, because everyone has a different standard. In fact, the more attention you pay to someone who is extreme, the more you are feeding that beast.

Enough said...have a Happy Thanksgiving, and enjoy the day, weekend and hopefully an SHU win!

The "free message board" with a perceived "freedom of speech" may foster in some a "right" to say what they want. Because there are agreed upon rules when one signs on to the site, the preceived "rights" loosely and wrongly attributed to freedom of speech simply do not exist. The moderators have shown remarkable restraint.

More to the point: just because one may have a right to do something, it does not follow that exercising that right in an indecorous and boorish way is appropriate. this board should, and used to, be above such low class droning, especially since so many here are experienced as and qualified to act as division 1 coaches (note the sarcasm).

Never have I seen such complaints about a message board for such an annually pathetic team like ours. Its really not even that bad. When your team sucks as bad as our for as long as ours its not low class droning, its venting. And again, havent really noticed that much lately. In fact its been incredibly positive. Are you guys not reading like 95% of the posts?? Every few days theres one of these posts and it makes a mountain out of a molehill. Stop making these posts and it wont seem as bad. bananaland.

I always find it amusing that those who want to restrict or limit what people say feel free to exercise the right to demean what a poster says by describing what they post as decorous, boorish or low class droning. I wonder what they would say if we eliminated their ability to voice that type of opinion. Whenever you begin limiting any expression or opinion you're on the cusp of a very slippery slope.

No one is trying to limit what people say. We just don't want the same posters saying the same damn negative thing over and over again. We don't want to hear that Willard must be fired after every loss or bad thing that happens to the program. We understand how you feel. Many of us feel the same way. But we don't continue to harp on it every single time something goes wrong. Please respect our feelings.

Sorry 85 but Batts does get it. No one is censoring anybody but the site has become unreadable for many of us and especially for Dan & I who have to Administer it. We get that you think the coach has done a poor job. Fact is we agree on that point, but there is no need to repeat the same thing post after post after post.

Maybe people do wanna hear it. Maybe you should respect their feelings. You dont like people complaining about willard? What do you think listening to people complain about the people who complain about willard is like? If you can watch our team play the past 8 years you can certainly deal with what you see on this site.

There are far more "unreadable" don't-be-negative posts than there are "unreadable" negative posts. It's a message board. You people really need to stop acting like this is the Supreme Court. Read a post or don't. I really don't post much anymore, but I do lurk. I know which posters I generally keep scrolling past, and you do too. Stop being such a ninny. Or continue - I don't care. I'll just skip over the next 500 personal appeals to whatever board crisis is the flavor of the day.

If someone voluntarily decides not to post negative comments, that is not censorship. Iron was making a good suggestion and basically asked for everyone to lay off the bashing KW posts....voluntarily....not censorship in any way. And by the way, it's a good idea.

Both sides are hunkered in and I don't think will be changing their opinions. This debate has been going on for what now seems like forever.

Clearly I am on the side of those asking that the same things being repeated since the end of last season have become annoying and maybe should be toned down.

Funny thing is that a high majority of readers agree with the negative POV, it's just they are sick of reading the same thing almost on a daily basis and feel that it's time to concentrate on the season as there will be plenty of time in 2016 to broach the subject of KW then.

Halldan and SnakeTom are correct. No one is attempting to regulate or stifle opinion. Rather it's the shear REDUNDANCY AND REPITITVENESS of the negativity that is ruining this Board for the majority of long time posters.

Trying to NOT do something is almost impossible (not post positive, not post negative, not be repetitive, not overeat, oy, vey ish mir).

I recommend focusing on doing something different - such as posting about other topics of interest - in particular, how about the WOMEN'S TEAM!?? Every day now, we're getting more people to actually consider seeing a game and discovering that they are a super team.

I'm experiencing that I do avoid MFWOT (my favorite waste of time - aka - MBB coach bashing) by moving my focus and energy to the very fine Women's Team. It's making all the difference for me, hope it will do so for others.

An appeal to freedom of expression is a red herring. No one is asserting that it is illegitimate to criticize KW but rather request that posters stop the endless and repetitive criticisms. A relatively few number of posters make this board increasingly unreadable. One suggestion, if you want KW out just "bold" your font so to save you time and other readers their sanity.

Yeah, freedom of speech unless you don't agree with my opinion....

That's wrong. No one is telling you what to post. Just asking that you don't repetitively post the same thing over and over again. Tell me how many times have I deleted or edited your posts even though we frequently disagree on many things. I'll tell you the answer! NEVER.

Tom K

BluePirate, good post. You can also focus on the positives of the men's program. We have Carrington, Ish and Desi for three years. We have Nzei and Singh for 4 years. Maybe we can have IW and Delgado for one more year. We also have a gem of an assistant coach in Sha.

I'm not one of those posters who post the same thing repetitively. I was just defending their ability to post their opinions no matter how often. Personally, I don't like redundant posting either way. But that's my opinion. It shouldn't dictate how others post.
