It has just been brought to my attention that long time friend and Booster Club member Joe DeCicco passed away.

Joe was 97 years old and I was always amazed how at that late stage in life his mind and memory were so good.

I'll miss you Joe.

Joe was as loyal a Pirate fan as there was. He would go on all the Booster Club trips to away games and tell us tales of how great Bobby Davies or Bobby Wanzer were as well as stories of Walter Dukes and Richie Regan. A great guy and a true Pirate. Rest in Peace Joe..

RIP. God bless you and your family.

I did not know the man. When you make it to 97, that in itself is an achievement.

Some of these people are amazing. I recently interviewed a 91-year-old WW2 vet who was shot down over Germany and taken prisoner.

The guy was still a firecracker. Somehow, I believe some people are simply blessed.

It was my typing error. I changed the headline by adding Joe's name so that those of us who knew him did not skip over the post.
