During the draft combine, an eye-opening revelation was made about Bailey that could impact how teams view him. While he was listed as 6'10 by Rutgers for the 2024-25 campaign, he ended up measuring in at 6'7 1/2 while standing barefoot, which is a significant decrease from the height many teams initially believed him to be.

"Rutgers' Ace Bailey's official measurements from the NBA Draft Combine: 6'7 1/2 barefoot, 202.8 lbs with a 7'0 ½" wingspan and 8'11" standing reach," Jonathan Givony of ESPN reported on Monday.

Is cooper flagged 6 9? To me cooper flagged is Mike dunleavy meets Kevin love

Ace is the type of guy that is possible he goes to a franchise fizzled out gets traded midway through year 2 and becomes a maybe journeyman

Well, he was probably 6'10" in sneakers.:p

The NBA is tailored made for guys like Ace Bailey. 6’7/6’8 guys who can shoot from
Deep and run the break. Long arms on defense.

I think there is a better chance that he is a multi year all star than a journeyman.

What team grabs him?

So was Wesley Johnson and he never averaged 10 ppg in any one season

He's about the same height as Aaron Gordon and Jayson Tatum.

Just sayin, his size isn't an issue. There are plenty of very successful guys around the same height.

He's got a high release point to his shot and plays long. I never doubted he was 6-10, but the tape measure doesn't lie.

The Sixers cold use a guy like him, but he's also pretty developmental. The question would be whether he'd have the chance to be groomed there or would he be thrown right into the fire, which could impede his development. He's got plenty of raw talent, though, that's for sure. Still has a lot to learn, though.

His size is good for an NBA wing. I don't think there is any issue there at all.
Maybe, and I am not up on NBA anymore. But as I see it, a 6'7 athletic kid with a good shot is a dime a dozen, but a 6'10 kid, way more rare. You guys can probably throw ten examples of why I am wrong. And I doubt if the NBA is shocked.

Harper and Bailey are great players.Wasted at RU this year and now bailing out.Kinda like Eddie Griffin.

I think that Bailey has a chance to be the best player in this draft. As you say he has a lot of work to do (and I also like Flagg and Harper) but Bailey has a nice combination of talent and athleticism.

I also think the wingspan and standing reach mitigates whatever effect being an inch or so shorter than you would expect will have.

A TV person said exactly that during a halftime discussion.

Not hard to pick who is better than the other. After watching both Bailey and Flagg several times or more I have picked Flagg as better overall. I give Flagg the edge defensively too. I also think if you compare offense from free throws percentage, to 3 point shooting, to overall field goal percentage etc. Flagg is better.

No question they are both great players but one stands out as the better of the two.

Flagg had the benefit if playing with a lot of great players. Bailey had only Harper.

I think Flagg might be a little more mature, but upside - wise Bailey could have a higher feeling.

Flagg did play with a lot of better players and guess what he still stood out. His stats are way better than Bailey including free throws. 3 point shooting is also much better. Those are areas the NBA likes bigly!

Pŕetty much SOP for college height vs NBA height. Barefoot height + 1" = height with shoes + about 1" gives you college height. Those measurable are virtually the same as Jayson Tatum - 6'8", 6'11" wingspan and 8'10.5" standing reach.

They are a good deal smaller than Kevin Durant who he is often compared to from a style POV. KD is 6'9" without shoes, 7'5" wingspan and 9'2" standing reach. So that may limit what some people think of his ceiling.

Bottom line is NBA players come in all shapes and sizes. If you can play it doesn't matter. Ace has some amazing ability but he's also raw in many important areas. A lot of varying opinions on him.

Flagg is a can't miss star. He can do it all. His scoring upside may not be the highest but he literally is a complete basketball player who brings it every second of every game. He's the best player on the floor every time he plays and doesn't disappoint. His value defensively is what sets him apart. He's far ahead of Bailey who will take some time to develop.

Dallas, who allowed Jalen Brunson to walk for nothing and gave away Luka Doncic gets a complete Get Out of Jail Free Card by winning the lottery.

No question. His maturity is way beyond Bailey and that’s why he is more complete now. He basketball IQ is off the charts as well.

Seems like a can’t miss.

However, if a team wants to take a bit more of a gamble on a player like Bailey and put off the immediate returns, I can see him being a more dynamic player.

Flagg completes a good team and elevates to another level. Bailey has the tools to be a superstar.

With regard to Brunson, it was the conflict of Luka pure and simple. But I think most everyone knew how good Brunson could be.

As Big East fans, we all knew at least Brunson would be a leader on the floor and would bind the Knicks together. As it turns out, he just needed to play his game in a system that featured him.

Later Dallas figured out how much they missed Brunson and traded for Kyrie to off set some of the load Luka was taking on.

As for trading Luka, there’s more to that story than just a dumb trade for Dallas’ ownership.

What’s wild and that some don’t appreciate - Flagg I believe was supposed to be a HS senior this year. Pretty sure he skipped a grade and went to college early.

Both Ace and Flagg are 18 years old.
That is amazing, but here we are scouring the portal for 24 to 26 year olds because they have experience
. BS ..... nothing wrong with going after 4 stars at a less expensive price or even buying high for a five star. So they leave. Who cares, everyone is leaving in this environment.
