The trio all finished in the top-7 in scoring average in the BIG EAST and helped lift the Pirates to their first conference title in 22 years.

NORMAN, OKLA. – Seton Hall men's golfers Andres Acevedo (San Antonio, Texas), Gregor Tait (Martlesham Heath, England) and Wenliang Xie (Zhaoqing, China) were named to the Division I PING All-Northeast Region Team.

Players across six regions – Northeast, East, Southeast, Midwest, Central, and West – earned all-region honors for 2022 from the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).

Acevedo nets All-Region honors for a second straight season. A First Team All-BIG EAST selection, he took his game to a much higher level in 2021-22, shaving nearly two full strokes off his scoring average and his 72.26 finished fifth-best in the conference. Tait shot a stunning 17 sub-par rounds this year in route to five Top-10 finishes. He finished the year with sub-par rounds in nine of his 12 rounds over the final four tournaments. Tait became only the sixth golfer in Seton Hall history to have a career scoring average under 74.00. No one has played more than his 130 career rounds at Seton Hall, and his 31 career sub-par rounds rank second-most all-time.

An All-BIG EAST Second Team selection, Xie collected a team-best six Top-10's this year and his 72.48 scoring average is a career-best which ranked seventh in the BIG EAST Conference. Named BIG EAST Golfer of the Week on March 3, he registered 11 sub-par rounds and four sub-par tournaments this year, including a 4-under-par, 70-72-70-212 at the Loyola Intercollegiate at the start of the spring season.
