As much as everyone bitched and moaned about him being terrible, he clearly is one of our best players and sorely missed today
He’s terrible. Don’t mistake it. Instead of somebody else missing a shot. It would’ve been him
Don't tell Carino that! He'll saw we're frustrated fans because we're not clamoring for a guy with an 89.2 O-rating, 26.9 TO rate, and who shoots 50% from the FT line and .318 from 2PT. DAW is a good defender, but not good enough to carry that offense at his usage rate.
Our problem is offense. We're one of the worst teams in the country in critical areas. Nobody can go beat a guy off the bounce. I'll trade off some weaker defense for better offense.
I've been saying for a long time "I don't give a damn how good your defense is, if you can't score you're going to LOSE !"
i am not a fan of wusu at pg. but it is ironic for the tge guy with more haters than anyone to sit out and we play our worst game ever.
I said this in another post recently.
For all of the fair criticisms that are made about Dylan, he is arguably our third-best player behind Jenkins and Coleman. After Saturday, he's clearly our third man given another invisible man performance from Toumi.
Was not having him the difference of a dozen points? Probably not. But maybe he does enough defensively to keep Bashir closer to his scoring average (28 compared to 18). Maybe he makes a few shots (Dual scored two points in 26 minutes).
We'll obviously never know but I don't think it's a coincidence that we played as poorly as we did without DAW.
I swear this board forgot about Vanderbilt. In an entirely different class than Monmouth but still a miserable game. Wusu was not good that night.
