And that is what value does SH place on having a successful athletic program . I look around at the other catholic universities in this conference and in other conferences and the common denominator I see is that having a highly successful athletic program is an integral part of that university's philosophy . It doesn't matter whether its a giant like Notre Dame , or a Dayton , or Gonzaga or St. Mary's or St. John's or Nova or GT or PC , failure and poor performance is not an acceptable outcome and when it occurs it takes whatever steps are necessary to reverse that course.

What is it in the Seton Hall psyche or makeup that tolerates what we seen over the past decade thru two coaching regimes . What are we to think when a member of the Board of Regents comes on this Board and tells us that athletics have been neglected and severely underfunded for decades and what conclusion can we reach when we learn that a coach who has proven he cannot be successful still will be our head coach . Can we reach any other conclusion other then that the Seton Hall administration places little value on successful athletics unlike the other nine teams in this conference.

This is also the conclusion I am beginning to draw.

And if the case, SHU needs to stop lying to themselves and the fans and move down to the MAAC and play all our games at Walsh.

Out admin seems to want the cake (being "big time") and eat it too (but not having to really care and/or put the effort in)

If you want to go really down the line, I wonder how much a combination of politics, pressure, pride and overall involvement comes into play when all of the other Catholic schools are run by religious orders and Seton Hall is run by an Archdiocese.

It's a big difference --- I just have no clue what it ultimately means.

Where's Hank now, he's been absent from this board for a long time now?

I think you're right that there is an enormous difference where the Archdiocese is a micro-manager and with a religious order it's more of a macro-manager relationship and I would venture a guess that the Archdiocese is more bureaucratic .
