Our wins have been all old school Big East basketball. Speaking of:

It's very early of course, but tied for first place today if SJU closes out Villanova:

Seton Hall 3-1
Connecticut 3-1
St. John's 3-1
Villanova 3-1

now we have the test of beating the bad teams coming off emotional wins. this team can win or lose to anyone. theyve been beating the best, now its time to take care of business agaisnt the worst before a 4 game gauntlet that we could easily go 0-4 even if they play well.

Yep, this week will reveal even more about this group. Absolutely cannot lay an egg at Georgetown - that would deflate all the momentum. The Butler game is a toss-up. They're good at home and also playing better than expected. Would be a great win to get, but a loss there isn't the end of the world. Georgetown is the key game next week. Cannot no-show.

Sha mentioned the Georgetown game a bunch in the various postgame comments. He's on it, the players need to be too. Going to Georgetown for 6:30 on a Tuesday is like a graveyard. They're pretty bad and maybe have less scorers than last year even when they were pesky, but this will be a test. Also 3rd game in 7 days (2 on the road) for a team without a bench.

That's a game you'd like to see more juice from guys like Coleman, Tubek, maybe EHE too.

If we're sitting here a week from now and this team is 12-5, 5-1... I mean... Damn, that would be a remarkable. Stunning. But take care of business Tuesday night. Not sure about the game at Butler, but firsts first against Sha's friend Ed.

The rebounding was the great equalizer. Tremendous effort on the glass … my favorite measure of effort and attitude .
+18 on the boards! Marquette isn’t a good rebounding team but we took it to them.

The centers combined for 14. Funny Bediako scored 30 seconds into the game and then didn’t again.

Lots of good team rebounding. Even Sanders with 4 in 8 game minutes.

I am sure many here will say that the Georgetown game is not a trap game. Espey after the fact. Need to maintain focus and intensity for this game.

it seemed like we were getting every loose ball rebound (for the most part) and limiting second chance points. when youre the underdog to a top 10 team second chance points will essentially bury you. even when MU did get the offense rebound our defense clamped down.

We are definitely playing better than we did in the USC,Iowa,Baylor,Rutgers stretch.Good job by Sha.

That is so true. And to have any of those games back would be such a difference in the season so far.
