Any Chance We’re Ranked Come Monday?

I don't follow cbb at large, but doubt it based on our early season. But if rankings were based on current play rather than cumulative resume, would be different.

Well isn't that how Florida State got overlooked in football? Come on basketball writers follow the lead from football.

I expect us to be the second or 3rd team out. Most of the teams in the 15-25 range still have 2-3 losses. Zags have the most in top 25 with 4. Don’t see how we’re in with 5 losses

At this point they need to keep improving their NET rankings. Get to a place where being on the Bubble would be disappointing.

Of the unranked Big East teams, St. John's and Creighton deserve a spot (assuming they win today, both are currently leading) in the top 25 more than Seton Hall right now.

It's almost impossible at this stage of the season to go from not receiving votes to being ranked. If you're not receiving votes post Christmas, chances are you've "earned" that distinction

Last week 43 teams received votes so that's akin to making at least a 19-position jump in the polls. That pretty much doesn't happen after the Thanksgiving week tournaments.

No ranked team from last week has as many as five losses yet and only a handful of the RV teams -- Michigan State, Texas A&M, Alabama and Villanova have that many losses. None of those teams had more than 15 points in the AP poll and No. 25 Auburn had 168 points.

The polls are meaningless anyway. Sure it's nice to have a number next to your name but beyond that it's no big deal, IMHO.

No. We should get some votes. Surprised kenpom didnt move up as much as i expected.

These are very high profile wins so who knows?. UCONN and Marquette are arguably 2 national contenders. Most likely only 10 votes though

Not a chance guys. But we're certainly better than this.

We're definitely outperforming this now. The team over the past 5 games since Missouri is different than the team that played the first 10, but the aggregate is still skewed by that weight.

If they take care of business against bad teams that number will start to more closely reflect where they are.

I would say no chance and we'll get votes. I don't know what the voters really look at TBH. The headlines of what we done and the overall quality of our wins are a big deal.

Our metrics are going to slowly rise if we keep wining and get some decisive wins. Even our NET is only #73 today, KP #67. But we're tied for 4th in the country at 3 wins Q1. They are only 14 teams with 3+ Q1 wins right now. We're the only team with a NET passed 40 in that group. A unicorn for sure.

The same eye test from a month ago that said the team was brutal now has taken a 180. Will the real Pirates stand up.

Probably a top 50 or so team right now with an upward trajectory.

Much ado about nothing at this stage of the year.
I would much prefer to be ranked in early March. That's the task.
Just win the next game. Repeat.

Often it's easier to be the hunter (UConn, Providence & Marquette) than to be the hunted (Georgetown).

Blow this game Tuesday and all the momentum the team has will instantly vanish. Be ready and don't treat this game as you did the Xavier one.

No chance, and deservedly so.

Not because they are doing anything bad, but because right now there’s just too much ground to make up against the rest of the field. Just keep winning
This. What you guys do get is the "giant killer" label and graphics of Seton Hall versus the top 25. Plus a lot of "how tough the big east is." Keep taking care of business and you will get there.

For what it's worth, I took your win against us as a bit of a fluke. Not that it was undeserved, you outplayed us and, more disappointingly, you were tougher than us. But it's looking more and more like you guys are a pretty good basketball team. Holloway seems to understand how to get the most out of what he has. One of Jim Calhoun's best traits is he understood his players strengths and put them in positions to take advantage of them. Likewise, he was exceptionally good at understanding opponents weaknesses and how to take advantage of them I see some of that in Holloway.

March 3 is looking like a bigger and bigger game. I'd love to return the favor to you guys at our place.

+1. Rankings this time of the season are meaningless and unnecessary distraction.

Win the next game; pile up wins; avoid January swoon.
