AP men's college basketball poll reaction: What's next for each Top 25 team?

I don't think SJU is the sixth best team in the country and only 2 BE teams in Top 25 is warranted but not a good luck.Outside of SJU all BE teams seem to be degrading in this new era.

UConn winning two nationals in a row degrading.
UConn although trailing off will be OK as they have $$.Marquette may be OK because Shaka looks like he can maintain and build a program. The other teams are not their former selves. It's not the BE of the 80's and 90's.

I wouldn’t say Uconn is trailing off coming off 2 titles and still being a good team this year (one who I think can still get better and be a factor in March, and is my pick to win the BE tourney).

3 teams in the Sweet 16 last year even though we didn’t get as many in as I would have liked.

Hoping X can be 5 this year.

SJU isn’t the 6th best team nor do they have anywhere near the 6th best roster, but at 27-4 and 17-2 with zero bad losses the ranking is kind of justified. They have 4 losses by a total of 7 points, which is freaking wild if you think about it.

Except for X (if they get in), I think all 4 Big East teams can make runs in the dance and can also get knocked out quickly.

BE was much stronger last year. St Johns is clearly the best of the BE but not close to how good UConn was last year. I would not be surprised if the BE only gets 3 in the big dance this year.

We are flawed team this year, but hopefully we can make a decent run. Importantly, Karaban has shown signs of coming out of his slump. But our problems at guard, especially point guard aren't going away.

Next year's incoming class is ranked in the top-three nationally by every major recruiting ranking system.
  • Braylon Mullins is a consensus top-20 prospect and has a five-star rating on 247's composite rankings.
  • Darius Adams is ranked as high as No. 19 (ESPN) and is a consensus top-25 prospect, also earning a five-star designation.
  • Seven footer Eric Reibe holds a consensus top-30 ranking and is among the top centers in the class.
  • Jacob Furphy (the Tasman Devil) is considered one of the top international players available.
We'll be back.

Thank god, we were really worried over here.

UConn should be really strong in the post next year and I envy that! To be a top team you need really strong front court play to complement the guards. UConn should be a top 10 team again next year depending on who stays of course.
