With Powell missing some time what starting lineup would you go with in his absence?
We really have no backup 2-guard to insert in his place so Shavar has been our defacto SG. He brings a lot to the table but outside shooting is not one of those things. I believe McKnight is best suited to play the 2 for an extended period of time and would go with this starting 5:
PG - Nelson
SG- McKnight
SF - Rhoden
PF - Sandro
C - Gil
That’s our best offensive unit. There are 2 schools of thought....one is we need to get our best offensive unit on the court and the other is let’s go totally defense. I think we need to combine the 2. If you want to go full defense, the only switch I’d make is Shavar at PG instead of Nelson. IMO, the one key move we have to make is Q has to play the 2 in Powell’s absence.
Shavar, Cale, Tyrese and Ike are going to play a lot as I think we need to play our full 9-man rotation and apply defensive pressure when warranted. The D is going to have to produce offense.
