LAST GAME
In an instant classic, freshman Jada Eads (Orlando, Fla.) drained a go-ahead three-pointer with 52 seconds remaining in overtime to lift the Pirates to a thrilling 74-71 victory over Georgetown on Saturday in Walsh Gymnasium.

With the score tied at 63, Kaydan Lawson (Cleveland, Ohio) appeared to hit the game-winner with a corner three-pointer with only three seconds left, but Georgetown's Victoria Rivera hit a buzzer-beater from just inside half court to send the game into overtime.

In the extra session, Eads scored all eight points for Seton Hall, including the game-winning three with under a minute remaining. After the Pirates forced a turnover, Eads was fouled and iced the game with a pair of made free-throws. Eads finished with a career-high 27 points to go with seven assists, four rebounds and four steals. Faith Masonius (Spring Lake, N.J.) tallied 21 points, six rebounds and six assists. Yaya Lops (Stamford, Conn.) had 17 points, which put her over 1,000 for her career, to go with three rebounds, three steals and four blocks.

AGAINST CREIGHTON
Seton Hall and Georgetown will renew their rivalry on Jan. 11 in Walsh Gym. The Bluejays own a commanding 20-6 all-time lead and have won six straight in the series. Seton Hall fell to Creighton three times during the 2023-24 season, but all three contests were close affairs. The Bluejays bounced Seton Hall from the 2024 BIG EAST Tournament with a 72-65 victory at Mohegan Sun Arena.

SCOUTING CREIGHTON
Coming off a third straight NCAA Tournament berth, Creighton returns seven players from last year, including Lauren Jensen, Morgan Maly, and Molly Mogensen. The Bluejays were ranked No. 21 in the Associated Press Preseason Top-25 Poll. Head Coach Jim Flanery begins his 22nd year as Creighton's all-time victory leader with a record of 401-262 (.605). Creighton went 26-6 overall and 15-3 in BIG EAST play a season ago, finishing in second place in the standings and advancing to the BIG EAST Tournament Semifinals.

The Bluejays have earned five NCAA Tournament berths since joining the BIG EAST before the 2013-14 season. They most recently made it through to the second round where they fell to No. 6 UCLA (67-63).

This season, Creighton is picked to finish second in the 11-team BIG EAST Conference. Jensen and Maly were named to the Preseason All-BIG EAST Team.

The Bluejays enter Saturday's contest with a 13-3 record overall and a perfect 5-0 mark in BIG EAST play. Creighton has won 12 of its last 13 games and four in a row. Most recently, the Bluejays edged Marquette, 71-68, in Omaha on Wednesday. Both Jensen and Maly rank among the BIG EAST's top-5 in scoring at over 17.0 points per game each. As a team, Creighton is the best three-point shooting squad in the BIG EAST at .358.

UP NEXT
Seton Hall will return to action on Wednesday, Jan. 15 when it heads to Milwaukee for a BIG EAST clash at Marquette. Tip time is scheduled for 9:00 p.m. ET. The contest will be televised nationally on FS1. 89.5 FM WSOU or wsou.net will also carry the game.

So, the opportunity for this year's Women's to get a bid at this point is real. This one is important.
They need to:
1) Limit the unforced turnovers
2) Allow a reasonable amount of Creighton threes. SHU cannot break down in the 4th Quarter with the perimeter defense. This has been the Achilles Heal of the Women's Program for a long time.
3) use the crowd st Walsh to their advantage. They can't play this game uptight.

Down 17-15 after the 1st Quarter. Creighton 1-6 from three. Good D by The Hall. 6 turnovers by SHU hurting them. Have to rebound a bit better too. Decent crowd, but quiet so far. Good game.

Hall had a rough 2nd Quarter. Down 39-27 at the half. Missing a couple of layups and not quick enough on the boards. Creighton hit 4 threes in that Quarter. Surprised Tony never pressed or trapped in that half.

Trap will come out second half - avoids showing the trap plan so it can be countered at half time.

Hall cut lead to 6 after being down 17. The score is 55-49 after 3 Quarters. Fighting chsnce.
