I'm Catholic but I'm completely confused by this Pope. I really like how the Pope has come out and said Catholics should be more welcoming to all - that is how most Catholics I know feel. And I admit the religion is way way back in the dark ages on many issues but I don't expect religions with centuries of history to change quickly.
I don't understand how he welcomes Putin for a meeting or Castro and goes out of his way to say something about someone who is only one of many candidates for Pres? Really puzzling stuff and I think it comes from a South American socialist perspective that does not like America more than anything. I like how he preaches humility and lives simply but some of his actions like this one make me scratch my head.

Had to laugh at the Melania line from the earlier post. But you wonder, at some point when she starts becoming more visible along with Trumps daughter....you wonder how that is going to look for optics? Bill and Chelsea vs. Melania and Evanka. I call that Game, Set, Match

Merge, I'm not going by polls but rather how they both come across. On the debate state, both Trump and Clinton are condescending and hard to listen to. But in one-on-one or more intimate interviews, Trump comes across with both confidence and some level of charm where he controls the interview. Hillary comes across the same way she does as in front of a crowd. Watch that Pelley interview. She stutters and is all about "politico-speech" (which is not what the public wants to hear) and just doesn't have the same command as Trump. There's a reason her people have tried to carefully construct her appearances.
By the way, scumbag move by Barry to skip out on Scalia's funeral. I guess he's going to stay partisan to the end. And you wonder why I question his abysmal leadership skills.....

Kasich is the candidate I hope wins out of everyone running, both sides included. He has my vote if he's the GOP nominee.
If Kasich doesn't win, a lot of people are going to be longing for the days of Obama in two or three years. Bad candidates on all sides aside from Kasich.

All his presence would do is create a distraction. The right move is not to go and pay his respects in private, as he did today.
That's bullshit...there is an enormous list of dignitaries and world leaders that will be there. Keep making excuses for the loser.
None of them are the POTUS, who is tasked with appointing the deceased's replacement.
I can just imagine the media. "Mr. President! Mr. President! How was the funeral? Who are you going to appoint? Can you get the nominee through the Senate?"
