If Nova shoots like that they can beat anyone in the country. Their problem is when they are off they have no other real options, its what has hurt them in March the last few years.

Providence 81- 73. Where is Corny T.? This board really has underestimated the Friars. Also, Butler does not do well against very athletic teams.
Maybe YOU have underestimated the Friars. They have been chugging along all season and it's been recognized here.

Providence played a very weak non-conference schedule outside of the matchups in its exempt tournament. 8 of 12 non-conference wins against teams ranked outside the KenPom top 100 and a 9th (Harvard) that is barely in the top 100.
However, the Friars proved they are for real today. I thought they were a 20-25 type team last week, now I can say they're better than that.
You must have missed the thread where Providence was being dismissed by many posters and Providence fan Corny T was getting incensed.

I don't think they were dismissed. It was suggested they were overrated. That was my opinion. Maybe we were wrong.
Switch Butler and Xavier as well as DePaul and Creighton and you have it the way I see it. Maybe Creighton ahead of Marquette but I'm not going to ding Marquette too much for one bad game.
Hold off for now. After all the Saturday games we'll have the usual thread up on Sunday.
Butler playing Xavier tomorrow will certainly clear up the 3 vs. 4 debate for the time being.
I feel bad for the team (DePaul or St. John's) that plays the loser of this game.........0-2 conference record
